This position can be based in our Santa Barbara, San Jose or Tucson Offices.

Responsibilities

New and exciting opportunity to proactively create and strengthen core FP&A processes and deliverables while also providing strong business partnership for the Bruker NANO Surfaces Division. You will be a Finance Business Partner to the Business Unit General Manager and provide strong financial and business support across the organization. Become embedded in the business operations, collaborate with various functions, identify initiatives to create value and lead the improvement efforts. Will also work directly with the BNS VP Finance and BNANO EVP of Finance to provide strong financial planning and analysis processes as well as some accounting support to meet required reporting requirements.   • Provide strong financial support, reporting and analysis to the BU General Manager; be a trusted business partner

  • Collaborate with the business functions to identify improvement opportunities and help drive the improvement

  • Strengthen core FP&A process around budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis

  • Update monthly forecast models, provide monthly update of sales, booking and accounting data, effectively communicates results to BNS management

  • Meet all monthly financial close deadlines and submitting accurate results to financial management

  • Provide required data for Monthly Forecast Calls including updated P&L forecast, updated bookings and revenue forecasts; provide monthly updates of the spending forecast.

  • Provide supporting documentation for month end closing activities as required

  • Provide timely response for ad hoc financial analyses as required, including gross margin analysis of pricing, product cost and mix

  • Perform other duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive financial reporting, planning and analysis work experience within a complex, multi-entity, multi-national environment.

  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing Finance or cost accounting

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; demonstrated ability to create positive relationships and partner with the business

  • Advanced computer proficiency, especially with MS Office Suite, Excel and PowerPoint

  • SAP experience desirable

  • Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of cost accounting, inventory reporting and controls

  • Strong analytical and cost accounting skills with excellent attention to detail, ability to deliver insightful and credible analysis to support decisions

  • High-energy self-starter with history of successful accomplishments

  • English fluency with excellent written, verbal, computer, quantitative, negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple deliverables, and work effectively in differing time zones with all levels of the organization to achieve results and implement continuous improvement

  • Ability to maintain valid passport with flexibility for international and overnight travel

  • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state or governing location

  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

Provide timely responses to employees and management regarding employee relations matter such as PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) * Participates extensively in investigations regarding employee relations issues including but not limited to workplace conflicts, complaints including harassment and discrimination complaints and disciplinary matters. * Responsible for the preparation of investigation reports following the collection, evaluation and summarizing of all the information. * Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment by facilitating communication within the company as well as by providing helpful advice and guidance to managers and employees for problem resolution of work-related conflict. * Develops, recommends, and initiates appropriate steps for resolution of workplace conflict in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. * Performs all work in compliance with relevant company policies as well as pertinent federal, state and local laws. * Provides guidance for Human Resources policies and participates in the resolution of employee relations issues of varying complexity, which may include investigations, employee disciplinary action, and conflict resolution. * Identifies and provides recommendations regarding employee retention strategies and positive employee relations initiatives. * Coordinates and participates in the corrective action process, which may include advising managers, creation of written documents, participating in the delivery of the discipline and maintaining reporting and records. * Conducts exit interviews and provides guidance regarding the conclusions resulting from these interviews * Documents employee relations matters as required and in accordance with legal compliance and organizational policies and procedures. * Provides assistance with the administration of various compliance programs. * Assists in providing and facilitating the development of manager's employee relations skills by facilitating management employee relations and related training.
