Position Summary The Finance Assistant provides direct support to the entire Finance, Payroll and Accounts Payable Teams by providing exceptional customer service and performing a variety of routine tasks in ensuring an efficient and timely payment process. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: 1.

Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors 2. Front desk reception to greet and screen visitors to entering the Finance Department 3. Maintains an organized filing system of departmental records, monitors incoming documents, and provides necessary support of requests from Human Resources and other areas as needed 4.

Processes federal and state tax forms (W4s IT-2104), direct deposit forms and reports all new hires through applicable means to the State of NY. 5. Provides exceptional customer service by addressing employee needs (Payroll related) and vendor inquires (Accounts Payable related); responds promptly to departmental email, telephone inquiries, voicemails, and assists with login issues and password reset to our web-based programs 6. Provides and completes necessary forms and documents as needed (W2s, 1099s, Verification of Employment, etc.) 7.

Processes and compute retroactive payments, termination payouts, tuition reimbursement, net learning payments, and maintains employee parking deductions in payroll system 8. Processes and mails payments for employee withholdings from Payroll and vendor checks from Accounts Payable 9. Routinely prepares necessary reports for Human Resources and Finance 10.

Ensures all Payroll and Human Resource information is kept confidential 11. Processes vendor invoices following established procedures for Accounts Payable 12. Reconciles vendor statements for Accounts Payable and takes the necessary actions to resolve discrepancies 13.

Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education Experience Requirements High school diploma required. Prior healthcare experience preferred Prior experience working in Finance, Payroll and/or Accounts Payable Working knowledge of Information Systems such as Kronos, Meditech and/or Infor preferred.

Fluency in Excel Core Competencies Must be very flexible, available to work extra hours as needed, able to work well under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines. Team Work Communication Skills Attention to detail Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements Work Environment May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospitals SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospitals Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.

Ability to use computer for extensive periods of time. Occasional lift and or move of 15 to 20 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to respond to frequent calls.
