About This Internship

Arch Insurance Group's Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides a learning experience that serves as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills across a variety of areas such as Analytics, Actuarial, Finance, IT, Underwriting and more. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field.

The type and complexity of work will vary depending on the department. The responsibilities and projects assigned will require strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

The program is designed with the following objectives:

• Provide challenging work that benefits both the intern and Arch.

• Develop interns through an immersive and highly interactive environment.

• Opportunities to attend Arch Sponsored events including training and networking opportunities.

• Identify talented individuals for full-time opportunities.

• Assist with various quarterly close financial reporting requirements.

• Compile quarterly expense reports and analysis for senior executives and department leaders.

• Assist in reporting quarterly results to Corporate.

• Identify and assist with redesign and/or simplification of various processes within the team.

• Provide support on special projects and ad hoc reporting as required by the department or other business departments.

Qualifications

The standard qualifications of all Arch intern candidates are:

• 3.0 GPA

• College level

• Sophomore, Junior, Senior

• Finance (Concentration Accounting)

• Interest in Insurance industry or related field

• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.

• Team player who collaborates effectively

• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Display integrity and leadership.

Location & Work Arrangement

• Positions are available in the following locations: Jersey City, NJ.

• You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. The work schedule will be Monday

• Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Timeline

Arch summer internship positions will be posted from October 2023 - March 2024 and will be unposted when filled. The program will run from June 3rd

• August 9th.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work with Arch Insurance Group, the hourly rate is $22 to $26 as of the time of posting. The higher end of the scale is reserved to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates who have passed exams.
