About the job

sunday is seeking a Financial Analyst (US) to strengthen its Finance team.

This unique position represents an opportunity to become an integral part of a lean, high-impact team and immerse oneself in a multicultural work environment alongside highly skilled, affable, and committed colleagues. As the first and only US-based finance employee, you will assume the crucial responsibility of overseeing daily financial operations, producing internal financial reports, and serving as a valuable business partner to our US operational teams. In addition, you will contribute to the accounting and tax requirements of sunday's US entity.

The role is based on-site in Atlanta and reports directly to our Global Head of Finance.

Your responsibilities:

• Supporting and challenging the US business on financial planning and budgeting

• Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing and reconciliation processes for the US entity, serving as a key contact for our US external accountants.

• Be responsible for the daily financial processes related to Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) for our US entity.

• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing our financial tools and refining processes.

• Handle general administrative obligations for our US entity (incl. tax, HR support with payroll & benefits requirements) and US office.

• Maintain seamless day-to-day communication with the US operational teams, fostering collaboration and operational excellence.

• Support our FP&A efforts in contributing to cash flow analysis, monthly financial reporting, operational KPI tracking and ad-hoc analytical needs.

Required experience and competencies:

• Relevant degree in Finance or Accounting.

• 2-4 years of professional experience in a top-tier accounting firm or within the Finance department of a high-growth start-up or scale-up, experience with FinTech is a plus.

• Ability to manage our external accountants and support Accounting & Tax for our US entity (incl. establishing financial statements, consolidating books, managing taxes). Proficiency in the preparation of monthly and annual accounting books and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a solid background in Finance and Accounting is a must. A solid understanding of US tax laws and requirements is a strong plus.

• Proactive and self-motivated approach to problem-solving.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.

• English native-speaker.

• Strong attention to detail skills

• The ability to spot problems and find the solution before anyone else!
