Finance Analyst (Cloud)

The Cloud Finance Analyst will advise senior leadership on cloud usage and operations and identify areas for cloud optimization. This person should have a deep understanding of cloud financial management practices and principles, with a proven track record of optimizing cloud costs and investments.  This position requires the candidate to be located onsite in Chantilly, VA.What you will do: 

• Maintain up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, and IBM Cloud) 
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine approach and feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.  
• Leverage management tools to identify and act upon optimization opportunities 
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to recommend cost-optimization practices
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting for cloud spending across multiple platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM) 
• Work with internal stakeholders, providing visibility into cloud spend and cost avoidance. 
• Engage with cloud service providers to ensure cost-efficient optimization.
• Stay abreast of the latest cloud FinOps tools, technologies, and best practices.

• Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph 
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a cloud financial management or cloud cost optimization role.
• Previous experience as a Data Scientist, Business Analyst, Business Process Analyst, Data Analyst, Requirements Analysts, or similar.
• Expert experience with MS Excel, with demonstrated use of these tools to model business practices, financial constructs, and pricing models.
• Experience advising technical and development teams on financial benefits and risks of varying cloud models.
• Benefit/cost analysis, data analytics, PERT techniques, Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI), and Certification and/or demonstrated technical knowledge in multiple cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, and IBM Cloud).

• Certification in Cloud FinOps (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner)
