About the role:
The Accounting team is currently seeking an Accounting Manager - Controls and Processes. This is a position within the Finance team and will be based at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. The successful applicant will be responsible for building out the SOX compliance program in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. The position will provide compliance support and training to accounting and other departments, and assist with the preparation and review of the governing policies and procedures. You will work with the parent company controllership (including internal audit and SOX compliance team), FP&A, Global Purchasing & Supply Chain, Human Resources and various cross functional teams. You will also be involved in the month end close and financials submission to the parent company. We are looking for someone who has excellent project management skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fastpaced environment to support our continued success.
Day-to-day responsibilities Include:
Design the internal control structure in partnership with key functional departments, and serve as the key owner of continually innovating our SOX program
Build and continually evolve a holistic SOX compliance program encompassing risk assessment, scoping, remediation planning and an overall SOX roadmap
Lead the implementation of the SOX program while tracking project status inclusive of deficiencies, remediations and testing results
Drive a strategy that optimizes our documentation process and testing with internal and external teams and communicate findings and recommendations to key organizational leaders
Manage programmatic success by partnering cross-functionally to develop a strategic viewpoint of our business and monitoring outcomes
Understand key processes and controls and accurately assess implications for the company
Work with internal and external auditors on ICFR and SOX compliance testing
Ad-hoc projects as necessary (ie assist with the month end close process)
You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:
BA in Accounting (or Finance related areas and pursuing CPA)
A minimum 5+ years of experience in a SOX role; Big 4 Experience is highly preferred
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, risk and controls standards and business process best practices
Strong organizational and time management skills, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with cross-functional partners
Must be a self-starter and team player and able to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Experience leading month end close execution (review of flux analysis, account reconciliations, journal entries)
Quick learner, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Experience with system implementations is a plus
