Come join a friendly and diverse clinical team that provides quality care! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a Final Year-Graduate level Clinical Intern (unpaid) for the In Home Therapy program at our Worcester site.

The In-Home Therapy team provides strength-based therapy to families, children, and youth under 21 years old who have significant behavioral health needs. The therapist, in collaboration with the Therapeutic Support & Training staff, provides intense and flexible family therapy in the home/community setting with the purpose of improving the youth and family's functioning in the home setting.

This position is wonderful opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated team and gain therapeutic and clinical skills working with youth and families, as well as having exposure to working with multiple behavioral and child welfare systems. This position provides supportive supervision and energetic work environment as well as some flexibility in creating your own schedule.


  • Weekly clinical supervision to meet clinical licensing requirements

  • Training opportunities

  • Some flexible hours (during weekdays)


  • Provide weekly family, parent and child therapy in the home/community.

  • Conduct comprehensive home based behavioral assessment including the CANS and treatment planning

  • Participate in care coordination tasks (meetings, collateral communication, etc)

  • Attends staff supervision, meetings and trainings as required.

  • Follow CHL protocols.

  • 2-3 days of weekday evening availability needed (up until 8pm)

  • Car required as travel is part of this position



  • Currently enrolled in Graduate degree program in social work, counseling or related field and are a 2nd/final year student.

  • Current degree program is on clinical license track (LCSW/LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)

  • Experience working with children, adolescents and families with behavioral, social and/or emotional difficulties.


  • Comfortable providing home/community-based services.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently and ability to contribute to team objectives

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills.

  • Ability to use a computer-based information system.

  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered and insured automobile for work-related purposes

  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check

Responsibilities: Provide in-home, therapeutic interventions including individual, parent/child, and family systems solution-focused treatment. Conduct a comprehensive bio-psychosocial needs assessment for the child or adolescent and their family, which responds to the diversity of the individuals and families served. Take the lead in the development of a strength-based treatment plan and safety plan. Such plans will include behavior modification therapy and crisis intervention to determine ways to best defuse a situation without necessarily moving a child and linkage to needed supportive services. Provide emergency response and intensive outreach to families in order to assist them in stabilizing children and adolescents within their home during a psychiatric crisis. Be flexible with work schedule to accommodate the needs of the families during evenings and weekends. Maintain a minimum of 20 hours of billable units weekly. Collaborate with Emergency Services as needed, regarding clinical alerts or crisis response plans. Able to utilize innovative, evidence-based techniques and motivational counseling to inspire families and to increase treatment plan compliance. Guide the delivery of services, formulate treatment, and communicate regularly with the IHT Therapeutic Training and Support Worker concerning on-going client/family needs and progress. Coordinate treatment planning and aftercare services with other treatment providers, so as not to duplicate services and to foster seamless and consistent support. Schedule: Pay Rate: $20/hour Requirements Master's Degree in Social Work, or related field, or independently licensed as a LICSW or LMHC, with relevant community-based social service work with parents and children. Able to provide in-home support. Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements. Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from work and for providing services in the community. Must have reliable telephone notification system for emergency contact. Must be proficient in English and possess and convey effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and service providers. Ability to function as a member of a team. Ability to relate easily to others on an individual basis and in a group. Demonstrate sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with staff, co-workers and supervisor. Must have the ability to establish a rapport with a culturally and economically diverse group of families. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups.
