This process involves collection, analysis, summarization and presentation of the financial performance of a business. Professionals are required to provide analysis around business' profitability and financial condition in both short and long term.
Statutory reporting is the mandatory submission of financial and non-financial information to the government agency. The reporting (multidimensional) is as per the Basel-II requirements. The team should have a strong understanding of the legal books, Financial Statements
Market Skills and Certifications
The Derivative Center of Excellence (DCOE) Team was created in response to issues identified with derivatives reporting and netting issues that prompted a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act Significant Deficiency. The team ensures documentation is completed, conduct training, and ensure parallel processes take place.
The team's purpose is to apply Wells Fargo's accounting policies uniformly to all derivative instruments across the company and prepare consolidated and legal entity internal and external reporting for the relevant derivative population. The team requires a comprehensive set of derivative and collateral information. This comprehensive dataset is reconciled to the General Ledger (GL) to ensure completeness and accuracy of data elements received and derived.
The Financial Reporting and Analysis Analyst Level 3 will perform: (1) Hedge Reclassification Activities The hedge of variability exposure in the flows of a specific asset or liability, or of a forecasted transaction, that is attributable to a particular risk.
(2) FIN 39 Netting
(3) SEC and Regulatory Reporting perform a variety of activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting required by government agencies and regulators.
The position requires great attention to detail, ensures time sensitive maintenance is performed accurately, and demonstrates passion in training and mentoring team members.
Relevant Work Experience -
3-5+ years of experience in Audit/Accounting preferably related to Trade Validation and Derivative Reconciliation.
In-depth background in Financial Service Operations with demonstrated knowledge of US Regulatory Reporting and general industry practices.
Proficiency in SQL, Oracle IrisWeb/Essbase, Vena, Calypso and other data management software experience is a plus.
JOb Duties and REponsibilities
Validation activities - monitoring of certain data elements for completeness and accuracy to ensure data quality and accurate reporting.
Data reconciliation and analytical reviews - reconcile the trades in the DNRA population to the General Ledger to determine if the database received the full population from CORS and conduct research for any variances analyze changes in derivative values month over month or quarter over quarter.
Accounting operation processes
Preparation of manual adjusting entries - posting of necessary journal entries to adjust individual fields of trades already in data warehouse or post additional trades that were not initially captured on any system of records.
Quarter-end activities and reporting - prepares approximately 25 external regulatory reports every quarter and various internal reports as basis for SEC reporting and Y9-C / Call Report.
Educational Requirement -
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or any Business related field
Certification Preferred -
Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Chartered Financial Analysts (CFAs) highly preferred
