Job Description:
12-hr. rotating nights shift: 4 days on, 4 days off

Operate line/equipment to fill products, in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., cGMP, GDP, SOPs).

Safety/Housekeeping: Keep work areas clean and free of hazards or dangerous conditions Follow department and company safety guidelines, identify and report safety hazards or unsafe behavior. Perform duties in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards

Planning: Plan work activities in accordance with production schedule, and shifting priorities.

Verify production schedule to determine and adjust activities according to production priorities. Ensure that materials needed for production runs are available.

Technical : Sanitize fill suites and ancillary areas, in accordance with standards and procedures (cGMP, SOPs, etc.) Strictly adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Resolve and/or report all discrepancies immediately. Prepare line/equipment for daily operation according to SOPs for assigned work area, including sanitization of contact surfaces.

Perform major cleanings of aseptic areas (e.g., fill suites and ancillary areas). Prepare fill room and sanitization materials for sterilization (e.g., filters, fill room equipment, sanitization equipment). Complete required documentation (MBRs, SOPs, log books, etc.) in accordance with cGMP and cGDP. Troubleshoot and fix minor aseptic problems with line/equipment, alerting maintenance or supervisors as needed.

Team: Collaborate with co-workers to meet business objectives and enhance team capability Share knowledge and experience with co-workers to develop team's overall capability.

Interfaces: Coordinate with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth execution of work.

Communicate and work with Quality Assurance on product quality issues and compliance activities Communicate and work with Maintenance to resolve problems with equipment. Exchange accurate and complete information regarding production with supervisor, other shifts, and other departments. Communicate and work with Materials Control to ensure efficient flow of materials and products to/from warehouse. Communicate and work with Quality Control to ensure proper technique as well as good aseptic technique.

Rotating Night Shift Schedule (4 days on, 4 days off) This position is an entry level engineering position with the intent of exposing college graduate engineers to manufacturing equipment and processes through a hands-on maintenance technician position. As maintenance manufacturing skillsets and knowledge develop and aptitude, initiative, and the ability to consistently deliver results are demonstrated, degreed maintenance technicians are eligible to progress to other areas of the Alcon engineering department (automation, project management, maintenance supervision). Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on critical facilities systems (HVAC, autoclaves, dry heat ovens, water treatment systems) and manufacturing process equipment (compounding reactors, mix tanks, fill lines). Leads small projects to improve equipment/process reliability, efficiency, and operation as well as standardize equipment design. Planning: Coordinate equipment availability with production to ensure maintenance is completed within required timeframe. Plan and execute maintenance and project work with minimal supervision. Partner with production to identify windows for maintenance activity completion. Effective communication of equipment operations status. Able to estimate time required for maintenance activities. Technical: Equipment / process troubleshooting and documentation of equipment repairs. Write and implement SOPs and PM procedures. Locate and diagnoses failures through in-depth data analysisAssess equipment condition and replace worn or defective components. Perform troubleshooting using advanced electronic equipment, isometric and P&ID drawings, diagrams, historical data trending (OSI PI), programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley), functional specifications, operating and component manuals, and verbal/written instructions. Maintain detailed maintenance documentation and repair logs. Complete maintenance documentation at the time of maintenance completion. Lead and execute equipment/process improvement projects, manage small-dollar (< $50k) project budgets. Assist completion of manufacturing non-conformance investigations and technical document writing. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. Estimates labor and equipment costs, prepares purchasing requisitions, and manages electrical, mechanical, and fabrication contractors regularly. Ability to complete basic engineering solution design with assistance from mentoring engineer. Entry level control systems and HMI programing. Perform work area and production area housekeeping. Follow all safety regulations, and promote positive safety behaviors Team: Cooperate and support coworkers to enhance overall capability of the organization. Transfer knowledge through peer-to-peer training. Willingness to broadband and expand knowledgebase to other areas of the organization. Drive for personal and professional growth for self and team.
