Psomas, one of the top-ranked consulting engineering firms in the nation, providing surveying, engineering, construction management and environmental services throughout the Western United States, has an opening for a Field/Office Engineer to support our construction management team in our Tucson Office.

The Field/Office Engineer serves as an assistant to the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in the field to help develop and maintain the project administration records and perform some construction inspection.

Duties:

  • Typical duties may involve processing monthly estimate payments, maintaining various project logs, photographic documentation of the project, labor compliance, managing material records, daily and monthly reports, assisting with project quantity documents

  • Projects will involve the construction of highways, roadways, bridges and related transportation infrastructure.

  • Duties may also include performing construction inspection of roadway, bridge, or water/wastewater construction work in a field inspector capacity

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related educational background

  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

  • Working experience as an office engineer for ADOT projects

  • AutoCAD

  • Prior construction or construction management experience

The role of Field Service Engineer will primarily support customers at their sites throughout a geographic region with new or existing 3D metal printing systems acquired from GE Additive. Essential Responsibilities: As a Field Service Engineer, you will: Act as the single point of contact to the customer for timely and satisfactory resolution of concerns covering a wide variety of support services offered for assigned region, product, or coverage area * This includes phone and email support * as well as onsite support for installations * basic onsite training * preventive maintenance * calibrations * and break fixes * including emergency service for various 3D metal printing systems Act as contact for an assigned region, coverage area, or product line * including being responsible for the associated knowledge * and acting as direct access for all appropriate internal functions to support the customer Establish and maintain contact to provide on-going technical and business support to assigned customers in designated geographic region or coverage area Contribute to the development of an annual operational plan Identify and communicate suggested improvements in products, processes, and procedures Work within the boundaries of predefined contracts and frameworks with some latitude for deviation Comprehensively document activities and services performed according to specific requirements PLEASE NOTE: The preferred location for this position is Southern California. However, other US locations may be considered, including Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college {OR an Associate's Degree (two year technical degree) from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of two years of Services experience; OR a High School diploma / GED with a minimum of four years of Services experience; OR four years of relevant Military experience; Or Alternatively: A trained and licensed electrical or mechanical engineering technician} ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S): Ability and willingness to travel extensively – 75% of the time, domestically and internationally Possess a valid Passport or have the ability to obtain a Passport for international travel, as needed PLEASE NOTE: The preferred location for this position is Southern California.
