JOB SUMMARY The Field Training Officer is responsible for the training of new Officers, annual recertification of current Officers, and other education as necessary. #Maintains all records and documentation relative to Officer training, and provides said information when requested to do so. #Goes to off-site facilities and provides security-centric training to employees. Gives the Security presentation to New Team Member Orientation as needed.# DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains instructor certifications for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Taser.

Trains all Officers in the application of NVCI and other types of training specified by leadership. Trains all Officers on the Medical Center#s policies, procedures, and proper use of the Taser Conductive Energy Weapon. Maintains all necessary training equipment.

Ensures Officers stay current on their global required training. Provides Security centric training where required within the Health System. Develops, implements, and maintains a two-week training program for all newly hired officers.

Gives the Security presentation during NTMO. Assists with the administration and maintenance of NVCI for the Health System. Maintains all Officer training and certification documentation.

Fills Security Officer role as needed. EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirement: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One-year of prior Security experience Achieves#and maintains the following certifications within 90 days of start:# Taser Instructor certification.# Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) instructor certification.# Valid driver#s license, clean driving history, and clear criminal history are required


Preferred qualifications:


Associate Degree in related field Achieves and maintains International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Healthcare Security Officer certification. WORKING ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.

Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations The noise level in this position is usually low. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups. Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.

Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing. Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone. Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
