Purpose of the Job

  • Prepare and execute testing activities in support to one or several Projects and /or Programs and Bids if required

Organization Structure

  • Regional Center / Industrial & Field Operations / Test & Commissioning team

Organisational Reporting

  • Direct reporting: Regional Center T&C Manager and, when assigned to a specific project than Project Commissioning Manager

  • Indirect reporting: Lead Field Test & Commissioning Engineer

Key Network & Links

  • Field Operation Test & Commissioning team and Installation team

Performance Measurement

  • To be defined (depends on mission), mainly it is time to perform test activities and quality of reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and executes testing activities in support to one or several Projects and / or Programs initiatives or

bids, for technologies of railway signalling under the direction of his / her hierarchy and in conformance with

Alstom Transport policies and standards, applicable regulations and professional standards (including EHS)

  • Executes of specific Testing activities according the testing procedure / documentation and Sub-system

Leader a/o PrCOM instruction.

  • Could supports V&V team and perform test on platform / in factory as per request.

  • Complies with EHS procedures and Alstom Zero Deviation Police.

  • Performs activities with quality, especially Test reporting.

  • Uses the correct tools and equipment to perform the electrical and mechanical test activities. Ensures the

equipment and tools in their care.

  • Uses and maintain PPE defined by EHS;
  • Alerts the hieratical superiors by any risk identified during the testing activities, and especially alerts any hieratical manager (Sub-System Leader, PrCOM, PM, RC TCM, ) if any EHS risk is identify.

Working Conditions

  • Position requires several trip and/or reallocations depending on each project assigned - across the United States and Canada mainly.

  • Work schedules and hours change often. Working weekends and in shifts is not uncommon.

  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time domestically and/or internationally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience of testing train control systems
  • 2 years of experience in Alstom (ex-GE Transportation) products such as: VHLC, Electrocode 4 and 5, ElectrologIXS, Ultra Cab and others.

Job Title LEAD FIELD TEST & COMMISSIONING ENGINEER Purpose of the Job Manage to develop and maintain performance of Test & Commissioning works on fields and manage to produce Test & Commissioning works on field in line with ADM Strategy, processes (including EHS, Railway Safety, Local Regulations and Professional Standards) and Projects QCD's targets, under the Test & Commissioning Manager and Project Commissioning Manager, when assigned to a specific project. Daily Reports, Status Reports and others defined by T&C Manager Responsibilities The role of the Lead Field Test & Commissioning Engineer is to manage the T&C population assigned to a specif contract including contractors, providing guidance in terms of technical knowledge, organizing and applying the strategy defined by the PrCOM in accordance to the rest of the Core Team. For the same he may: * Develops / maintains Project Test & Commissioning sub system leaders, Engineers and Technicians competencies * Manages to Deploys Test & Commissioning processes, methods and tools and contributes to their improvement through Return of Experience (REX). * Report to the PrCOM, interfacing with Project Installation Managers, Project Engineering Managers , Engineering sub system leaders and contractors if any * Monitors and reports on Test & Commissioning performance on projects; * Support planning and support designing the strategy for each project aligned to PrCOM; * Create and support the creation of Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test Forms, tracking the requirements and making sure the procedures cover those specific requirements defined with the V&V Organization * Ensures that T&C Activities are being executed by the team lead by it in line with the Test Plan, Test Procedures and T&C Forms (including QCD targets) and ADM Strategy, Policies and Standards (including local regulations and professional standards) * Deploys synergies with V&V and other platform related to T&C Engineers sharing and get the validation of the PrCOM a/o the RC TCM for the same. * Evaluates, selects and applies appropriate action on test and commissioning issues during T&C execution. * Provides technical support the development and preparation of Handover Plans in accordance to PrCOM demands * Develops and deploys towards Standardization of T&C method statement/procedure from Return of Experience(REX) * Shares resources between projects and effort towards development of resources competency.
