Job Summary

The Utility A Start position is a bargaining unit position which requires a general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction related tasks and Utility tasks such as, but not limited to; responding to leak/CO coplaints when qualified, assisting with and/or performing leak repair duties and service installations when qualified, using air and hand tools, operating equipment, pipe fitting, meter turn-ons, complying with all Company safety standards, after hours work and exporsure to all weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Basic Backhoe.

  • Basic pipe fitting (swing meter in to out).

  • Build and install meter sets.

  • Turn ons.

  • Odorant tesing (sniff tests) with or without testing.

  • Assist with leak repairs, respond to leak/CO coplaints when qualified and perform other duties as requested and callout when qualified.

  • Duty crew when qualified.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good mechanical skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Availability for after hours work and callout when judged qualified.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • PA Driver's License

This position will involve in-house troubleshooting, repair and field support of complex electronic systems and subsystems. Position duties include: * Represent Lockheed Martin and will require a positive, professional work attitude. * Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific specifications and instructions. * Travel to customer locations to perform, troubleshooting, installation and field changes. * Provide hands on troubleshooting and upgrade support for existing equipment in a real time environment. * Interface with the customer and support field issues. Lockheed Martin's Archbald facility is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) mission area that provides design, manufacturing, engineering, and field service and support to its domestic and international customers. The site supports two product lines: Precision Guided Systems (PGS) and Nuclear Systems. The PGS line of business designs and manufactures air-to-ground weapon and training systems for the US Military and international allied customers. It supports two primary sets of customers in our Nuclear Systems line of business. On the military side, it has provided safety-critical nuclear instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems for naval submarines and aircraft carriers for over 60 years; on the commercial side, it designs and manufactures I&C products for the commercial nuclear power industry. The Locale: Archbald is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is part of Lackawanna County in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Archbald is a suburb of Scranton, PA. The city of Scranton hosts five colleges and universities: Lackawanna College, Marywood University, The University of Scranton, Johnson College, and The Commonwealth Medical College and one technical school, Fortis Institute. Where can you get to from Archbald? Philadelphia is 2.5 hours to the south, and NYC is two hours to the southeast. Binghamton, NY is an hour north of Archbald. The Pocono Mountains and Lake Wallenpaupack are nearby. The Northeastern PA region offers an excellent cost of living and is a great place to live. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors degree or equivalent experience/combined education. * Experience operating / maintaining support equipment. * Must be willing to travel (up to 50%) work any shift, weekends and holidays to meet customer requirements. * Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. * Must be proficient with MS Office Suite. * Must have the ability to multi-task in a high-tempo environment and be able to interact with multiple organizations and levels of management. * Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and a passport. * Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with the customer. Desired Skills: * Hands-on equipment troubleshooting, and repair experience. * Experience with system installation, integration and testing. * Field support experience. * Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Prior Navy propulsion systems experience a plus.
