The Utility A Start position is a bargaining unit position which requires a general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction related tasks and Utility tasks such as, but not limited to; responding to leak/CO coplaints when qualified, assisting with and/or performing leak repair duties and service installations when qualified, using air and hand tools, operating equipment, pipe fitting, meter turn-ons, complying with all Company safety standards, after hours work and exporsure to all weather conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Basic pipe fitting (swing meter in to out).
Build and install meter sets.
Odorant tesing (sniff tests) with or without testing.
Assist with leak repairs, respond to leak/CO coplaints when qualified and perform other duties as requested and callout when qualified.
Duty crew when qualified.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good mechanical skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Availability for after hours work and callout when judged qualified.
