The field technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and upgrading a wide variety of proprietary computerized electro-mechanical systems for customers in the U.S. and foreign locations. Technicians receive extensive training in systems design and operations, and then may travel individually or in small teams to support customer needs as they rise.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Field technicians will have had past experience with network routers/switch configuration, basic electrical/plumbing/construction techniques (basic facility repairs)

  • Must have experience using common computers and applications, have basic experience with network routers/switch configuration and have the skills and experience to troubleshoot and develop solutions to a variety of expect and unexpected problems without written procedures in all cases

  • Working environments range from customer showrooms, to factory floors, to computer rooms and in some cases extended periods in uncomfortable confined spaces to access machinery wiring, controls and compnents

  • Must be able to work on mixed teams with divers backgrounds

This position requires someone with a current and active TS/SCI clearance. Performs a variety of technical tasks and provides site support. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions clearly but also able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization. Specific systems may include Trojan Spirit II (V) 2/3, Trojan Spirit LITE (V) 1/2/3, and Prophet T-LITE. Role Responsibilities: * Perform all aspects of Trojan and Prophet Systems troubleshooting and repair to include communications-electronics, computer systems, sensor systems, SATCOM systems, optics, LAN and data communications, configuration and maintenance of servers, routers, switches, multiplexers, workstations and peripherals. * Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the line replaceable unit (LRU). * Performs moderately complex technical functions such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, or specialized test equipment to support products or product performance to validate, investigate and resolve matters of significance. * Strong background in electronics, and communications equipment trouble-shooting and repair. * Possess high reliability soldering skills and is experienced in repair of PCB (Printed Circuit Boards), and in the use of Test Equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, millimeter's, power meters, signal generators and DC power supplies. * Must have experience and be able to troubleshoot, maintenance and repair Satellite Communication terminals and systems. * Experience in interpreting system drawings, electronic schematics, network drawings, engineering drawings. * Able to configures computer software, communications devices, and peripheral equipment to operate within designated networks. * Perform logistic support requirements such as research, and equipment and spare part inventories. * Performs a variety of technical tasks and provides site support. * Modifies, moves, and installs a range of new equipment. * Troubleshoots a wide variety of hardware and software problems and interconnectivity issues. * Prepares and presents a wide variety of incident/performance reports to the customer and to the service delivery manager. * Provides advice and a wide variety of complex onsite training for customer support personnel. * May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals. * May serve as a team or task leader.
