Field Technician

The Field Technician performs several key functions within the Kitchen United facilities and HQ. The individual will provide services to of a high-quality service to our internal customers and guests. This position is a stakeholder facing role, which requires that the individual establish and manage expectations within the business and is paramount to successful project launches. Onsite services and HQ support time allocation will change periodically as the company grows.

The role of the Field Tech is to provide IT Support in a heterogeneous environment (Windows, Mac, IOS, Android, IOT) with a high focus on problem resolution and customer service. The Field Tech will be responsible for resolving a range of request and meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. Performs installation/maintenance of site/field equipment, rearrangement and removal of equipment and associated wiring at Kitchen United locations. Assists in the testing, moving, repair and adjustment of equipment problems associated with trouble reports and performs routine maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities:

On Site Service Operations Support 75%

Travel to KU facilities

Willing and able to travel extensively as required, overnight travel as needed. Amount of travel may vary based on project(s) timeline

Willing to work long hours to complete projects and tasks as needed

Coordinate with vendors, project team members, and program teams regarding new services, service repairs, and site start up activities

Evaluate, configure, install, and support facility systems as it pertains to physical security, security cameras, door access, control networks, and all communication services

Assist with onsite installations such as, but not limited to POS, Android Tablets, iPads, Monitors, TVs, laptop workstations, IoT gateway and sensors, Wireless APs, Audio Video speakers, media centers

Participate in the service request, incident, and project task lifecycles

Serve as a liaison between Operations and Technology

Diligently updating as-built documentation for internal stakeholders: often in the form of network implementation plans, physical network designs, documents, and spreadsheets along with the Network Administrator

Create, maintain, and disperse user accounts & policies for member access

Prepare and review weekly progress reports for leadership

HQ Operations Support 25%

Make recommendations for service improvement plans and ensure actions are followed through to completion in a timely manner

Coordinate and vendor manage on project deliverables for new locations

Procurement tasks

Create and maintain systems, procedural, and support documentation

Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones duties.

Requirements

Education:

Minimum of 4 years in related field

PSC certification preferred

Experience:

3+ years of experience as a field technician or network technician, field experience required

2+ years of physical security systems (preferably Rhombus, Brivo, Stanley Security, CCTV, etc)

2+ years of IoT technology (preferably temperature, water, electrical and/or gas metering sensors) with an emphasis on IFTTT

2+ years of combined experience of using Microsoft Office and/or Google Gsuite

1+ years of A/V experience for media center, speaker and sound amplifier installation (Rockbot, Sonos, etc)

2+ years of compliance and regulation

Experience in the development and implementation of the following: data and IP services (VoIP, VPN, Internet) and managed network services (LAN, WAN, WLAN)

Proficient knowledge of the installation of internet broadband, including installation and testing of Cat-5/5E/6/6A cables, fiber, fiber connectors, patch panels, rack equipment, UPS

Possess a basic knowledge of network topology and TCP/IP

Must be able to lift up to 40lbs regularly, move safely over uneven terrain, safely climb ladders while carrying up to 10lbs, work in extreme weather, and wear personal protective gear correctly as required

Must be able to adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and wear personal protective gear correctly

Must be able to bustle about, bend, squat, or stand for prolonged periods of time

Experience with managing 3rd parties and 3rd party technical delivery services

General knowledge of communication networks and system applications

ELO Touch Solution, Android Kiosk experience desired

Restaurant/Hospitality experience desired

Ability to work independently

Demonstrated track record of working with highly confidential and sensitive material

Practical knowledge of facility systems implementation

Must have reliable transportation

The position is based in Pasadena and there is no telecommute.
