Field Technician

Meeting the Challenge, Inc. (MTC) is seeking a talented and motivated Field Technician to join our Colorado Springs office. This position will work in varying environmental conditions to collect data for analysis of ADA Compliance for title II and title III entities.


  • High School Diploma or GED. Associates or bachelors degree preferred.

  • 1 year working as a survey technician, facilities or construction technician, or equivalent experience.

  • Must have and/or be willing to gain extensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and 2010 ADA Standards and other disabilities rights laws.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead or assist in all phases of data collection for ADA compliance.

  • Review and evaluate facilities, sidewalks, public rights of way, and other areas for title II and title III entities.

  • Use data collection tools, including but not limited to: a tape measure, smart level, and door force gauge, to measure accessible routes, general site elements, built-in elements, public rights of way, etc.

  • Use satellite imagery to review existing areas for ADA compliance.

  • Use tablet-based software for data collection

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills.

  • Initially assist, and eventually analyze and complete Transition Plan Databases for State and Local Government (Title II) clients and Compliance Management Plans for title III clients.

  • Initially assist, and eventually interpret and analyze all phases of architectural design drawings for non-compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate

  • Ability to travel up to 90% for projects within the Rocky Mountain Region.

  • Ability to conduct on-site data collection for up to ten hours per day.

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds

  • Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend on a regular basis

  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day

VIEW JOBS 2/20/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-20T00:00 SAIC is seeking Field Technicians to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Work Center, by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products, such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations 24/7. This position is contingent upon award of contract. The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide. This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs. Responsibilities: As a Field Technician of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Work Center, the candidate will be responsible for: * Coordinate all planning, implementation, and testing for new systems or modifications to existing systems * Ensure work center is aware of and coordinates on all installations, changes, and removals of equipment; ensure all changes are documented and training is provided to work center personnel * Act as work center chief in his/her absence * Attend and represent work center at all relevant planning meetings * Coordinate and assist in scheduling all pre-, post-, and in-progress QC inspections of equipment installation/removal * Supervise and administer the work center Quality Control Program * Work-center Quality Control Representative (QCR) * Provide guidance/assistance to crew chiefs * Review CSRDs to ensure hardware requirements are properly addressed * Provide technical solution with cost and manpower estimates * Review S-Plans/WOMS/EWOMS and provide comments * Develop Technical Solutions and Costing within required deadlines PRIMARY DUTY: Ensure all installations, removals, moves, or additions are coordinated; ensure all changes are documented and training is provided; act as chief in his/her absence. SECONDARY DUTY: Guidance/assistance to crew chiefs; QC, Review WOMS/EWOMS/S-Plans and provide comments. Technical Skills and Background Experience Requirements: * TS/SCI clearance required * Must have excellent technical and communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers at all levels * Must be able to work in a high visibility command and control environment, focused on 24/7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests * Familiarity with military customs and courtesies desired. Must be able to track and monitor multiple projects going on at once * Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.
