Meeting the Challenge, Inc. (MTC) is seeking a talented and motivated Field Technician to join our Colorado Springs office. This position will work in varying environmental conditions to collect data for analysis of ADA Compliance for title II and title III entities.
High School Diploma or GED. Associates or bachelors degree preferred.
1 year working as a survey technician, facilities or construction technician, or equivalent experience.
Must have and/or be willing to gain extensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and 2010 ADA Standards and other disabilities rights laws.
Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Lead or assist in all phases of data collection for ADA compliance.
Review and evaluate facilities, sidewalks, public rights of way, and other areas for title II and title III entities.
Use data collection tools, including but not limited to: a tape measure, smart level, and door force gauge, to measure accessible routes, general site elements, built-in elements, public rights of way, etc.
Use satellite imagery to review existing areas for ADA compliance.
Use tablet-based software for data collection
Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
Initially assist, and eventually analyze and complete Transition Plan Databases for State and Local Government (Title II) clients and Compliance Management Plans for title III clients.
Initially assist, and eventually interpret and analyze all phases of architectural design drawings for non-compliance.
Ability to effectively communicate
Ability to travel up to 90% for projects within the Rocky Mountain Region.
Ability to conduct on-site data collection for up to ten hours per day.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend on a regular basis
Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day
