The selected individual will join a small team with different and complementary specialty skills to learn and execute repairs or modifications to aerospace systems at the development location in order to execute them in the field. Must be proficient in reading and following technical manuals, or repair manuals.
Must be able to communicate effectively with design engineers and work closely with other aerospace specialties when learning and testing the functionality of new repair procedures or processes. Expected to be part of a team that develops installation procedures, steps and redlines drawings for newly designed parts or components. Once the newly designed part or component is ready to be installed on operational assets, the selected individual will be expected to accompany the retrofit and modification team to the field where they will execute the install or repair and provide training or instructions to available technicians for follow on maintenance when required.
The candidate must have a deep and diverse mechanical background in aviation systems and sub-systems. The amount of time spent in the field is expected to change with the amount of system modifications or repairs executed. The candidate must be accepting of an erratic travel schedule, willing to travel overseas to potentially
remote locations on short notice.
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of production, maintenance, repair or modification experience on military or test aircraft.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with and investigation within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain program access as required.
Must be willing to work any shift, overtime or non-standard work schedule as needed with travel up to 50% of the time.
Must have a current valid U.S. passport.
