The Field Support Technician Senior is responsible for the installation, triage, troubleshooting, and resolving most issues with client-side desktop technology.

Your Everyday

GENERAL DUTIES

Operational Support and Maintenance (Desktop technology): Works independently or as part of a team to effectively support the deployment of new end-user desktop hardware. Uses tools and equipment proficiently to image, update, and support end-user desktop hardware.

Effectively and independently supports enterprise desktop hardware attached to the corporate network and directory infrastructure. Effectively and independently triages, diagnoses, and corrects the majority of reported issues with end-user desktop devices. Maintains and installs hardware and software to end-user desktop devices. Provides general administration and support where audio-visual technology is required.

Operational Support and Maintenance (Audio-Visual technology): Helps to troubleshoot compatibility issues between a presentation and A/V technology. Repairs and maintains A/V equipment such as replacing projector bulbs or other general maintenance functions. May support the administration of video and tele-conferencing.

Project Support: Oversees end-user computing hardware procurement process for a facility or enterprise. Hardware procurement responsibilities including: obtaining required information as needed for vendor quotes; tracking the on-order plus on-hand inventories; making recommendations for re-order quantities as required; receiving ordered product ensuring inventory is tracked as defined through IT procedures; ensuring asset management database is maintained for currency and accuracy; overseeing end-user computing installations that support departmental moves or additions; and reviewing and providing justification for requested net-new network additions or existing modifications.

Leadership / Mentorship: Reviews, assigns, and monitors service tickets as required ensuring adherence to defined SLA commitments; ensures / provides timely updates to appropriate individuals as required. Provides mentorship and company-knowledge to new and/or inexperienced staff as required, helping to promote their success.

Other duties as required: Participates in an on-call rotation as required, able to travel between facilities.

Maintains professional communication at all times. Ensures accountability through timely follow-through and escalation as required. Performs other required duties as assigned.

The Must-Haves

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

  • Required Experience: 5 years of experience in desktop support.

  • Required Certifications: General desktop support technician certification: CompTIA A+ Certification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Exhibit a high degree of customer service, cooperation, teamwork, initiative and exceptional judgement. Demonstrated ability to achieve time-based objectives, balance multiple priorities, communicate effectively while remaining organized. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Demonstrated logical problem-solving capability.
