Essential Duties

  • Work for the TE Connectivity MOG (Bellville) Plant Manager to carry out all required coordination, planning and reporting activities for Field Service Activities projects.

  • Oversee technicians' performance and behavior, provide regular performance feedback

  • policies and applicable laws.

  • Coordinate and/or lead technical review of Field Service projects

  • Manage and maintain training and credentials for all field service personnel

  • Plan and implement logistics of all field work to include man hours, equipment, and travel

  • Create and manage the budget for the field service department

  • Act as Customer liaison to provide regular status reporting of allocated projects to customer

  • Maintain commercial awareness and ensure projects are ran within established budgets

  • Variation order planning and implementation

  • Work in accordance with company and departmental policies and procedures

  • Maintain detailed documentation of all Field Service activities

  • Write and review company operating procedures

  • Provide regular and accurate reporting to Plant Manager

  • Travel nationally or internationally to visit customers, as required

Routine Duties

  • Conduct pre-mobilization and de-mobilization meetings with technicians prior to and after each deployment.

  • On-line research pertaining to: travel, country information, visas, direction, addresses, technician apparel, required training, and various other tasks

  • Preparation of paperwork/requirements for travel documents including passports and entry visas

  • Make travel arrangements for off-site projects; including but not limited to direct communication with customer to assist in arranging car service, flights, hotels, and/or car rentals

  • Order parts and tooling necessary for field service terminations

  • Preparation of field packets; including all required documents, information, drawings and invoice packets

  • Monitor and maintain technician readiness levels through the routine scheduling and upkeep of immunizations, physicals, certifications, and training (internal and external).

  • Create, prepare and maintain detailed records of technician information regarding all aspects of readiness.

  • Routine Customer liaison and status reporting of projects to customer

  • Commercial awareness and ensuring projects are run within established budgets

  • Routinely communicate with other Marine, Oil & Gas businesses regarding the continued alignment and synergy of field service-related work.

  • Consistently seek opportunities to grow the Field Services business and service offering

  • Collaborate with Inside Sales on quotations for Field Services scopes of work provide input on costing, labor estimates, material and tool planning/deployment.

  • Maintain a forecast of Field Service demands to be used for financial forecasting and resource planning.

Non-routine Duties:

  • Communicate with Engineering regarding issues found during field termination work and be an active part of problem solving

  • Occasional off-site deliveries and/or pick-ups in and various surrounding areas, as required.


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • High school graduate or equivalent and at least four, or more, years related experience and/or training in a similar environment and role

  • Must be fluent in English and competent in written/verbal communication, Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be able to read and work from engineering drawings

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Knowledge of molding compounds (neoprene, polyurethane, silicone, etc.)

  • Knowledge of safe use of electricity

  • Knowledge of safe use of optical lasers

  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing laboratory/clean room set-up and maintenance

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word word-processing software and Project Management software.

  • Must have valid driver's license

  • Must be US Citizen for international travel
