The Field Services Safety Coordinator is responsible for working with Field Services personnel and managing risks at customer sites. Field Service Employees work outage hours, 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week. The Safety Coordinator serves as a resource for Field Services Safety Manager and secondary point of contact for business leaders, customers as it pertains to safety and health. This role provides coordination and technical expertise in all areas of safety, health, and industrial hygiene compliance to achieve safety excellence. This position will have the responsibility for establishing reliable methods for improving safety performance and assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Field Service Safety Coordinator reports to the Field Services Safety Manager.
Key Functions: The essence of this role requires a highly motivated, people-oriented person for the proactive, practical application of safety commitment to the operation and to the day-to-day behaviors of all team members. This individual must be versed in both general industry and construction safety standards.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Build a positive working relationship with all Field Services personnel and customers
Involves & engages team members in developing safety plans and job safety analysis · Provides safety coaching and recognition to all team members
Responds to & participates in the investigation of safety incidents
Provides technical support for on-going problem solving and safety investigations
Ensures systems are in place for an effective safety program while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines, applicable record keeping, reporting, safety statistics and trend analysis
Set safety objectives and targets to ensure that goals are achieved
Provide leadership, coordination and technical expertise in the areas of health and safety and support the site in training and developmental requirements
Responsible for coordinating safety audits at customer locations
Assists with the fleet safety program in accordance with DOT regulations for Field Services personnel
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred with minimum 1-3 years safety experience
Demonstrated track record in leading a successful safety program in a field services environment to include but not limited to:
Rigging
Scaffolds
LOTO
Respiratory Protection
Confined Space
Fall Protection
Strong, engaging, people-centered leadership style
Technical expertise in safety to include regulatory requirements, OSHA record keeping, workers compensation, and industrial hygiene regulations
Experience in Safety Incident Investigations
Ability to develop and effectively deliver safety training
Proactive, assertive and ability to work with a sense of urgency
Ability to plan, prioritize and work under pressure and meet deadlines
Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of health & safety programs
Experience with safety excellence programs such as OSHA VPP

Must be able to work independently and self-motivated
Partner with site Field Service leaders to identify and reduce Health and Safety risks
Ability to coordinate safety efforts with customers
Experience in the power generation industry
Ability to influence without direct authority
Analyze complicated issues and boil down to the key points, develop action plans and bring to a successful conclusion
Travel (80%) to customer sites, overnight stays and extended stays
