Field Services Manager

Position: Manager of Field Services We are on the lookout for a seasoned leader to helm our team of field inspectors in the heavy industrial steel manufacturing domain.

The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of both in-house staff and subcontractors. This role encompasses oversight of field inspections of various structures, including but not limited to overhead cranes, crane runways, mill buildings (columns and roof trusses), walking working surfaces, concrete structures, below-the-hook lifting devices, and other miscellaneous structures within industrial manufacturing facilities. As the Manager of Field Services, you will coordinate, execute, and oversee daily field tasks, compile reports of findings for engineering review, and ensure the delivery of outcomes while adhering strictly to safety protocols.

This role demands regular travel to customer sites primarily in the Midwest, with occasional assignments in other regions of the country. The position typically operates during regular work hours, Monday through Friday, but may require overtime, including weekends, night shifts, and emergency call-outs. Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Studies, and/or Business Management.

Preferred management experience in the steel and industrial sectors. 2 to 5 years of experience in a managerial or similar capacity. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a manlift. Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.

Proficiency in project management, computer literacy (including Microsoft Office suite), customer service, time management, communication, and organizational skills. Industry-specific training and experience. Self-motivated with a logistical approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.

Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings. Computer & tablet proficiency. Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of field employees, ensuring professional conduct at all times.

Manage day-to-day field operations, budget control, and expense optimization. Handle recruitment, training, and professional development of new staff. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain safety certifications.

Identify potential hazards, complete required permits and paperwork, and assist in the identification of structural or equipment deficiencies. Document deficiencies, take digital photos, and compose client reports. Interpret drawings, provide field sketches, and prepare reports for upper management.

Address and resolve issues, manage work schedules, and ensure adherence to safety procedures and policies. Direct field employees to respective divisions and document all work performed. Physical Requirements:
