Duties
Deliver mentoring services to new and continuing superintendents while serving as a role model and resource for problem-solving.
Establish small working groups that meet on a regular basis to provide support systems and in-person networking for superintendents.
Provide support for productive superintendent/board relationships.
Assist with the planning and delivery of the New Superintendents' Conference.
Be trained in the delivery of IASA's professional development programming, develop new academies, and deliver IASA programs as requested and scheduled.
Attend regular IASA regional meetings within the assigned geographical areas to increase IASA's presence, availability, and support.
Learn about and promote IASA sponsored programs.
Provide updates on FSD activities to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Multi-level experience with collective bargaining, contract management, and labor management.
Demonstratable understanding of the school district budget planning cycle, tax levy process, financial forecasting and the Evidence-Based Funding model.
Experience with school construction and/or renovations.
Experience with developing school board member relationships.
Experience with administering human resources and personnel issues.
Experience with analyzing student academic performance and planning school improvement.
Experience with coaching and developing principals and other district level administrators.
Required Credentials:
Preferred Credentials:
Reputation of successful Illinois Superintendent.
Mentoring experience.
Higher education or adult teaching experience.
Earned doctorate from an accredited university.
Salary/Benefits
Terms of Employment:
This position will work approximately 70-80 days per year. This is not a TRS position. IASA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Search Timeline

By late May, 2024 - IASA Executive Director appoints new Field Services Directors upon recommendation of the Interview Committee and successful reference checks.
July 1, 2024 - Newly appointed Field Services Directors begin work.
