The preventative maintenance technician will provide on-site maintenance for automated cash management machines and customer training; will travel to customer locations to provide maintenance; will travel to customer locations to conduct detailed audit of the machines
Essential Functions

Perform onsite maintenance as set by the company standards of preventative maintenance
Troubleshoot and identify malfunctioning or inoperative equipment
Replace or repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment
Provide documentation of service performed and hours worked
Provide documentation and complete inventory reports
Train onsite users on equipment as needed
Will be driving to perform essential functions
Comply with vehicle policies


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

VIEW JOBS 9/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-18T00:00 Position Summary: The field service technician job is a critical, client-facing role within GTT that has two general components. The FST will perform installation and repair work at the client premise, including "last mile" loop testing and repair, premises wiring, router configurations, and cooperative testing and troubleshooting with ILEC technicians. The FST will also perform central office maintenance, installation, repair and upgrades of core network equipment and HiCap circuits associated with GTT's nationwide network. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Execute the pre-scheduled daily task workload of installation and repair tasks per company policy and procedure * Execute any installation or repair task assigned to you "real time," as the need arises * Execute installation and repair tasks associated with core network assets located in collocation, PoP or data center spaces * Track and report all relevant facts regarding work activity completed on each assigned task * Attend and actively participate in team calls and activities as directed by management * Report time and attendance with integrity * Assure best possible client experience during installation and repair activities to assure you are the best possible representation of GTT. This includes properly greeting a client, explaining your plan of action, keeping them updated throughout your visit, answering any questions or concerns and properly closing out your visit before your departure. * Accurately maintain and transact all inventory within your control and area of responsibility * Maintain and operate company issued vehicle per established policy and with utmost safety. Maintain company issued vehicle in a clean, safe and optimal condition by following established policy, assuring maintenance schedule is followed and caring for the vehicle in proper fashion. * Accurately maintain all company issued tools and test sets in best possible working order, avoiding all damage and deterioration of quality due to neglect and lack of proper care * Adhere to all company policies regarding work shift compliance, time reporting, inventory management, travel and expense and motor vehicle use * Communicate internally with management and other stakeholders regarding the status of your workload throughout the day * Practice and exhibit quality work, excellent work ethic and pride-in-ownership in the execution of all operating and maintenance duties including the proper care of all company property * Be prepared and available to work on a rotating basis that will cover a seven-day schedule * Complete training modules as assigned * Carry out routine and special assignments as directed by manager * Maintain a safe driving record in accordance with GTT's motor vehicle guidelines Required Skills & Experience: * Experience in telecommunications and LAN environments, with familiarity of DS0 through OC96 circuits * Ability to demonstrate technical expertise related to standard telecommunication and/or electrical concepts, including accepted methods of trouble isolation and troubleshooting theory. Must display a sound understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP and premise wiring practices, including the knowledge of cable types, color coding, drilling and safe ladder practices. Familiarity with VoIP and voice services is a plus. * Sound understanding of the use of telco testing equipment, digital meters and computer operating systems. Proficient with typical telco test sets that test basic copper loops up through fiber circuits. * Ability to maintain and upgrade software * Proficient in the knowledge and theory of router configurations * Proven experience with central office environment and equipment, including maintaining a clean and safe collocation/PoP/data center environment, working knowledge and experience conducting site surveys/audits of those spaces and standard preventative maintenance practices * Knowledgeable in the installation and maintenance of fiber and fiber components * Well-versed on the installation and maintenance of DC power and knowledgeable of AC power installations * Proficient with equipment mounting, cabling, lacing and card installation * Ability to maintain and upgrade core network equipment firmware/software (i.e. DSLAMS, routers, switches) * Proficient with computer hardware and software components * Familiarity with fundamentals of inventory control and accountability * Must be adept at analytical problem-solving and have good listening skills * Proven customer service skills, including the ability to constructively manage and respond to client questions and concerns * Proven record of making and keeping commitments * Must have excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to adjust communication to the environment and audience. Must be able to comfortably interface with management and clients, both internal and external. * Organization and prioritization skills are essential * Must work well in a team environment * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where one can deal constructively with change and work independently with minimal supervision * Requires a minimum of an associate degree in related field or equivalent experience, certifications or training. Trouble resolution and/or project management certifications are highly desired. * Certifications or degrees in telecommunications, information technology or information services a plus Physical Requirements: * Climbing.
