Location: This remote position will be located in the greater Boston, MA area (another nearby location may be considered based on the right candidate).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Fulfill a critical role in the delivery of "best in class" service for Coherent products and customers

  • Perform on-site installation, training, preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of complex laser sources and optical systems

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose product issues directly with customers, technical support teams, and business unit engineers

  • Provide remote service and visual support as required to ensure optimal product performance

  • Advise management on customer satisfaction, product quality/reliability, and continuous product improvement

  • Support sales related activities and process applications as needed

  • Manage a local and/or an on-site inventory of service spare parts

  • Approximately 80% travel required including some overnight stays

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree, technical certificate/degree, or technical equivalent
  • 8 years laser or photonics field experience

Skills

  • Problem solving skills related to electronic/electrical, mechanical, and/or photonics products

  • Technical reading, writing, and schematics comprehension experience

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Command of the verbal and written English language

  • Computer literate education and experience w/ Microsoft products, Oracle, Salesforce

  • A highly functional individual both independently and within a team environment

Working Conditions

  • Valid driver's license and passport

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally (primarily to Canada) up to 80%.

  • Industrial / manufacturing w/ limited clean room environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work on a ladder safely and effectively

Safety Requirements
