What you will do:

The (Cryogenic) Field Service Technician trainee is responsible tolearn and perform duties of a field service technician at the trainee level.This position reports to the Field service manager.

Your responsibilities:

  • Trainee to participate in all trainings as necessary to develop a high level of technical competence in all field service job duties.

  • Can demonstrate the knowledge of a full compliance with our Airgas SOP's per the Bulk Installation Manual.

  • Will learn to install cryogenic bulk & gaseous bulk at Airgas facilities and customer sites.

  • Begin training in becoming a complete qualified field service technician.

  • Trained in numerous repair works on bulk vessels, high pressure systems and cryogenic transport trailers.

  • Be able to perform preventative maintenance inspections on all equipment.

  • Trained to repair pumping systems meters, valves, piping and regulators

  • Performs installation of piping systems in accordance with company SOP's.

  • Learn to perform Site Surveys to assure compliance with all federal, state/provincial and local codes.

  • Learn operations of equipment such as heaters, vaporizers, mixers, telemetry, PLC's and other related.

  • Will be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and complete required paperwork on a timely basis.

  • Adheres to and ensures that all safety policies and procedures are followed.

  • Learn to read P&Id's and learn to locate and diagnose problems. Be able to learn to correct and repair.

  • Be able to work various hours and days. Frequent over-time and being on call will be required.

  • Trainee will be expected to complete all assigned duties in an appropriate amount of time, per job.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain as condition of employment, a Certified Brazer Certificate, within 30 days of employment.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must be mechanically inclined and be able to take direction. Willing to learn new things and be able to multitask. Understandings of powertools and P&id beneficial.

  • Willing to learn the all local codes and Airgas SOP's.

  • Is wiling to understand the characteristics and hazards of cryogenic and high pressure gases in general, and be able to retain knowledge and understanding of the products, containers and piping systems which will be encountered in the performance of their job duties.

  • Ability to work with cryogenic equipment, pumps, pressure piping, compressors, and to troubleshoot system problems.

  • Demonstrate good work ethics and customer servcie abilities

  • Basic understanding of welding, brazing processes (specifically silver brazing).

  • Able to respond to emergencies 24 hours per day. Arrangements for emergency coverage are made when a technician is unavailable for personal reasons or paid time off.

  • Ability to learn to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings related to bulk delivery sites associated with customer installations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Learn to use basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook E-mail).

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines, as well as with others.

  • Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.

  • Ability to receive goals and manage time to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and achievement of goals are accomplished and manage and execute multiple tasks or priorities as necessary

  • Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.

As a General Service Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: * Expertly and accurately perform all maintenance work such as oil changes and fluid exchanges, tire rotations, alignments, batteries, lights, and other general service and repairs, on a variety of cars and trucks, all makes, all models. * Examine vehicle and discuss with service writer/service manager the nature and extent of any damage or malfunction. Provide recommendations for repair, parts list needed to perform recommended repairs and hours required to perform the repairs using industry standard labor guides. Provide list of all items needing attention, whether repairs, maintenance, safety or other. * Perform a thorough Courtesy Inspection on all vehicles when approved by the customer. * Ensure all under-car, under-hood and preventive maintenance inspections and reports are complete and accurate. * Follow all rules and regulations as spoken or written in any form by the management, i.e. employee's handbook and any addendum issued or posted at any time. * Maintain a good and positive attitude and the team concept at all time. * To act in a professional manner suitable as to represent a quality organization with which you are employed, always and in every instance projecting an attitude of honesty, integrity, and respectfulness. * Each employee must adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations as well as all city, county and state regulations regarding shop safety, fuel spill clean-up or other flammable or hazardous material. * Assist in all housekeeping functions as directed by management. * Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack or lift, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle, using proper equipment and safety procedures. * Perform IL State vehicle inspections. * Current ASE Certifications preferred but not required.
