Field Service Technician

Talascend is currently seeking a Field Service Technician for a contract opportunity located in Minot, ND. OVERVIEW: Supports on the installation, testing and repairing of new and reworked products (equipment and tools). Entry level position.

Executes tasks in accordance with detailed department procedures. Regular contact with supervisor or more senior Technicians Key interactions: Internally: Services operations, Customer Services and Engineering teams PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installs, tests and repairs new and reworked products (equipment and tools). Assures all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use by performing inventories and function-fit tasks prior to beginning each job. Records critical information such as dimensions, weights, temperatures, pressures and flow rates; also assists with the review of product testing, running and in some cases with assembly procedures. Provides Project Support as required, for all new projects which includes: assisting with project Factory Acceptance Tests and Systems Integration Testing.

Prepares and completes safety related documentation. Pursues safe work practices. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma. 6 months of experience. Basic knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel. Ability to read and understand drawings.

Ability to use technical tools and instruments required to perform duties. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, land based and offshore drilling and production platforms, installation vessels and international locations.

Work is outside and therefore conditions are dependent of the elements (heat, cold, wet, etc.). The job is often required to be done in high noise areas and depending on the particular job, is often completed in a very dirty environment. Must be able to work varied schedule with extended hours.
