Job Overview:
Join a leading innovator in digital imaging solutions as a Field Service Engineering Technician specializing in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) equipment. This role is essential for maintaining the high-performance standards of semiconductor process equipment in the vibrant tech hub of San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence in field service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular monitoring, inspection, setup, calibration, and maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues, collaborating with global headquarters for software-related problems.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of maintenance activities and generate comprehensive field service reports.
- Software Installation: Manage the installation of control software and keep an updated log of software revisions.
- Installation Support: Assist in the installation of new equipment at customer sites.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the stock levels of service parts and equipment to ensure readiness for repairs.
- Training & Support: Provide expert training and support to fellow technicians.
Qualifications:
- Education: AS degree mandatory; Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred. Equivalent experience considered for non-degree holders.
- Experience: 2-3 years with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment. Familiarity with multi-chamber cluster systems and robotics highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics. PLC and software application experience advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a systematic approach to resolving issues.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs and comfortable with standing, walking, and other physical activities associated with field service work.
- Language Skills: Bilingual abilities (Japanese/English) beneficial but not mandatory.

Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $33.37 - $49.00 based on experience
- Annual Salary Range: $60,750 - $90,000 plus overtime opportunities
