The Field Service Technician position reports to the Director of Service Operations and is responsible for providing onsite technical service and support for equipment installations/start-ups, preventive maintenance, warranty and repairs. This includes developing relationships with current and future customers and responding to inquiries and requests professionally and effectively. This position works closely with Sales Managers, Engineers and Operations Leaders to ensure customer expectations are exceeded with every job using best practices while leveraging any opportunities.
Installation and start-up of new machines and complete lines
PLC program modification
Onsite repairs for machine breakdowns. Test repaired items to ensure compliance with
Perform quality control tests on repaired equipment, as needed
Customer training and technical advice on all equipment
Perform any trials with products and packaging formats on customer sites
Repair equipment by adjusting, aligning, repairing, or replacing defective components
Inspection and upgrades of installed machines
Dismantling of machines for refurbishment or relocation
Communicating with the Service Manager on progress or problems on site
Preparing written reports of service activities, documenting progress, issues and recommendations
Provide support to customers via phone and email regarding troubleshooting and spare parts
Confer with Sales, Engineering and other departments to support and resolve customer technical issues and questions

High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical degree a plus.
Two years of experience in the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of large capital equipment required.
Strong mechanical and electrical background required
Solid understanding and programming of PLCs a plus.
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, a U.S. passport, and a good driving record.
Experience and ability to travel extensively throughout the week away from home. International travel may be required occasionally.
During the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb, carry and drive. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, moderate cold and moderate heat with usually moderate noise levels.
