Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and high energy Field Service Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on PBIs instruments by travelling to customer sites.

The Successful Candidate Must:

  • Live in eastern Massachusetts
  • Be able to readily travel world-wide
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in Field Service
  • Post-secondary education in instrumentation, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experience with CAD Drawing a plus
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to work independently or with limited supervision
  • Possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Have the ability to work under pressure

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all PBI products
  • Testing and repairing equipment by travelling to the location of the customer
  • Testing and repairing equipment at PBI facilities
  • Installation at customer locations
  • Training customers in installation, basic use, and maintenance of PBI instruments
  • Troubleshooting of equipment at customer locations
  • Maintain excellent relations with customers (external and internal)
  • Perform confirmation and QC tests to ensure that the equipment is functional
  • Provide telephone support to the customer in order to perform troubleshooting
  • Ensure that the equipment on which they have performed troubleshooting are in proper working condition
  • Packaging equipment for shipment
  • Arranging for shipping world-wide
  • Assist Manufacturing in assembly of PBI products
  • Assist Manufacturing in the set-up and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
  • Assist R&D and Engineering in the assembly of prototype instruments and transfer to Manufacturing
  • Liaison with external manufacturers and suppliers
  • Maintain excellent documentation and records

Position Summary * As a Service Technician – Electro Mechanical for Stanley Access Technologies, you will service and perform preventative maintenance as required for Stanley Automatic Door Operating Equipment and other electro/mechanical equipment as may be sold or serviced for our customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Perform service and repair work as designated in profitable and proper manner. Record productive time versus travel time. * Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with service program designated for specific customer. * Maintain accurately all work records and parts used at each job in accordance with established procedure. * Keep updated on all changes/modifications to Stanley equipment and Ansi156.10 standard as notified through published communications. * Keep manuals and all details up to date as changes are advised. * Maintain company vehicles, tools and other property in proper manner. * Present neat and clean appearance personally and in workmanship, in accordance with company policies. * Maintain adequate parts inventory for service vehicle; keep inventory log. * Test equipment before leaving job site; perform safety check. * Maintain good customer relations and customer service * Other duties as may be required. * Assist and instruct others in install / service methods. * Model, foster and drive the Stanley values including Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Vision, Stretch, Boundaryless and Speed. Education/Experience and Skills * HS Diploma or Equivalent is required. * Associates Degree in related electrical, mechanical, industrial field preferred * Prior experience servicing automated doors highly preferred * Prior experience in the Construction Field installing door frames and windows highly preferred. * Prior experience in the Electrical, Automotive, HVAC, or Communication Field a plus * Prior experience as a Glazier installing glass doors or windows and carpentry experience a plus. * Ability to read blueprints. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently * Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License. * Ability to lift and/or carry weight from 50-75 lbs. * Flexible work schedule is a must with the ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary.
