We are looking for a motivated Field Service Technician for Maintenance and Service of Automated Vehicle Gate Systems and associated devises. These systems include hydraulic driven vehicle barriers, electro-mechanical drive systems, variable frequency drives, low voltage controls and some PLC controls. Perimeter Security Partners services commercial, industrial and military clients primarily in the Southeastern US. Technician will need to work with little direction and ensure a high quality of customer service. Perimeter Security Partners has a robust maintenance and service team with seasoned lead technicians available for troubleshooting and support. Our goal is to minimize client systems downtime and maximize customer commitment by producing quality results in a timely manner. This position will report directly to the Program Manager.

Requirements

Field Service Technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision. Field Service Technicians must be able to manage service calls that may require more time than anticipated without rushing through a job. They must also possess superb customer service skills. Field Service Technician must diagnose systems and problem solve when given only non-technical descriptions provided by the customers.

  • Undertake customer support tasks such as communicating with customers, getting work orders signed
  • Writing up deficiencies, recording part numbers and reporting broken components
  • Able to travel during the week
  • Project locations are within a 10 hour drive of Nashville
  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance systems, motors, and drives
  • Familiarity with high voltage circuits up to 480vac and low voltage controls such as 24vdc
  • Operate efficiently for site installation of new repair components, preventative maintenance and test activities
  • Follow work progress agenda accurately
  • Perform troubleshooting and strive to resolve all issues before leaving the job site
  • Communicate with lead technicians for additional troubleshooting while in the field
  • Produce frequent and analytical service reports
  • Complete maintenance checklists on equipment
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner
  • Operate man lifts and fork lift frequently and safely
  • Adhere to companys given rules and regulations
  • Team up with colleagues and pass on important information
  • Discern customer needs and offer advice or recommendations
  • Formulate relationships of trust with customers
  • Proven experience as a field service representative
  • Ability to manage and preserve technical equipment
  • Ability to easily acclimate to modified schedules and shifts
  • Accustomed to using mobile tools and applications
  • Technical degree or certification

Quick Summary The person taking the Field Service Technician role will spend the majority of their time in four key areas. They are: 1. Traveling between hospitals based on assignment of service requests. 2. Troubleshooting and resolving customer and product issues. 3. Building positive relationships with Stryker customers. 4. Documenting service results in order to maintain accurate quality records. The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you'll be constantly on the go. It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers and sales representatives. Through time as a Field Service Technician, the foundation is laid to follow multiple career paths including engineering, project management, and leadership. Initial Objectives Within the first six months you'll: 1. Gain a basic understanding of the cutting edge of medical technology as it relates to our booms, lights, integration, and IP product lines. 2. Develop solutions for customers who are in a pinch. 3. Build strong bonds with fellow Field Service Technicians and in-house support teams. 4. Potentially earn enough hotel reward points for an extended vacation. Basic Background The person in this role should love to solve problems. We prefer an engineering degree but understand technical prowess can be gained through personal experience. Candidates must be willing to spend most weekdays traveling, be capable of successfully communicating with our customers, and have strong documentation skills. Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. * Must be able to review printed materials. * Must have demonstrated fine motor skills. * Must be able to use sophisticated test and office computer equipment (e.g. calculator, PC, telephone, Broadcast test and measurement equipment etc.). * Ability to work with large pieces of equipment.
