  • At least one year of FIELD SERVICE EXPERIENCE in the LAUNDRY BUSINESS or previous electrical, mechanical experience/education.

POSITION: FieldService Technician – Laundry Business

LOCATION: Madison, Wisconsin


Advise customers of necessary repair service including estimates of cost; also makes recommendations to customers for preventative maintenance

Handles customer complaint problems pertaining to service and repair work

Supervises the training of service technicians with in-house training programs

Maintains all service tools and service vehicles in good condition

Responsible for keeping shop area clean

Responsible for the safety of service technicians and maintaining a safe working environment in the shop area and reporting all accidents to Human Resources immediately

Maintaining adequate supplies and parts for service department inventory

Make sure warranty claims are processed and forwarded to supplier

Help service personnel diagnose and resolve difficult service issues

Responsible for issuing purchase orders for the service department

Make sure job tickets are properly punched in and out on time clock

See that job tickets are promptly charged out, both customer and internal

Responsible for the personnel under his management, i.e., authorizing time off, managing excessive sick leave and attendance

All other duties as assigned including all responsibilities of a Service Technician


To perform this job successfully, an individual must have above average mechanical, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills. A Service Technician must have the discipline to work with little supervision and ability to handle several projects simultaneously. Computer experience including the use of e-mail, internet, ability to navigate a parts lookup software package and general ability to read diagrams. The individual must be able to lift machines, with a dolly, weight of 40-70 pounds and be able to stand/sit for most of an eight-hour shift.


Graduation from High School is required.

At least one year of FIELD SERVICE EXPERIENCE in the LAUNDRY BUSINESS or previous electrical, mechanical experience/education.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the internal and external customer experience. Reviews operating and capital expense entries of assigned business units, and understands the correlation of expenses associated with monthly activity, as well as the timing of projects. Assists in and/or coordinates the development of area's annual operating and capital expense budget and quarterly forecasts. Completes audit tasks/SOX testing as required. Provides financial analysis and support for assigned business units: reviews and provides commentary for monthly operating and capital expense results and accruals. Analysis categories may include headcount/staffing, capital project, capital labor, lost CPE, materials issuance and/or other relevant operating or performance analysis. Assists in the month end close review, ensuring that assigned accruals are accurate and complete as directed. Provides input for the monthly review of expenses and capital to budget and forecast, and explains variances with operational analytics and insight to assigned business unit leadership and the finance group. Special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed and performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
