As a field service technician in the Minneapolis, MN area you will travel daily to customer sites to install electron microscopes and provide hands on technical support, perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electron microscopes for clients. Field Service Responsibilities Install new or modified electron microscopes at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications Use your electronics skills to diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the territory Review reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning instrument to determine nature and scope of problem Communicate with clients, vendors, supervisors and any other persons or organizations with whom interaction is required to accomplish work Resolve problems with affected instrument or prepare a report of findings and recommendations Consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems Complete and submit field service reports and weekly expense reports Field Service Requirements An Associate’s degree in engineering and/or science; plus 6 months electronics or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent customer service skills Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of equipment Knowledge of and ability to apply analog, digital, and RF electronics A basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches A valid driver's license and passport are required Up to 30% overnight travel is anticipated JEOL offers Competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package 401K plan with a match Company car Opportunities for advancement About JEOL Since 1949, the JEOL legacy has been one of providing solutions for innovation.
