This is a remote position ideally located in Houston, TX.

This position has primary responsibility for the install and support of SICK, INC. products throughout North America.
Provide amazing customer service by effectively managing customer expectations.
Introduce, implement, and support various LifeTime Service programs.
Build support structures and populate with SICK, INC. equipment. Requires the use of hand tools and basic construction knowledge.
Make electrical connections of SICK, INC. equipment.
Configure SICK, INC. products utilizing laptop and configuration software.
Provide onsite commissioning of installed equipment following established criteria.
Perform onsite start up support, monitor installed equipment for proper operation, and make adjustments as needed.
Must be able to properly troubleshoot, diagnose, and replace SICK, INC. equipment.
Provide accurate and timely service reports, time cards, and travel expenses.
Attend required training sessions as assigned.
Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
Education and Experience:
Two year college degree is preferred.
0 3 years of prior field service experience.
Technician experience in a similar or related industry (oil & gas, power generation, cement, marine/off-shore) is acceptable in lieu prior field service roles, but only if the primary responsibilities included the maintenance, repair and/or annual certification of gas analyzers (extractive and in-situ), emissions flow & dust monitors, gas flow meters, liquid analyzers, and flare gas flow monitors.
Preference will be given for experience with the associated SICK line of products, as well as GE / Panametrics Flare Flow, ABB, and the start-up & commissioning of such systems.
Computer Skills /Proficiencies Preferred:
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
IBM Notes (Lotus Notes).
Web browsers & internet based applications.
Experience with a variety of communications software tools & protocols. (i.e. Hyperterminal, MODBUS, TELNET, etc.)
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, combined with a good understanding of basic physics and chemistry associated with measuring gases & liquids at various pressures & temperatures.
This is a travel position and will require domestic and international travel upwards of 85% of time.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Able and willing to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed.
Legally permitted to work in the United States.
Able to work in a general office environment.
