Position Summary

Headworks is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, maintain, adjust and troubleshoot our equipment in the field. The primary role of this position is to perform, under general direction, advanced customer support activities for wastewater screening and compaction equipment. This position requires a self-starter that can hit the ground running with minimal training and supervision, requires 5+ years field service experience with industrial equipment, basic electrical controls knowledge, equipment training and customer face to face roles providing excellent customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Using established company guidelines performs installation support, start-up, operation and maintenance and training of the company products.
  • Serves as on-site customer contact for technical and application related problems.
  • Trains customer in proper preventive maintenance and operation of equipment.
  • Develop and submit written detailed service reports that affect billing, inventory, equipment history and failure.
  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Involves the supervisor or product expert with challenging/complex problems.
  • Identifies service and equipment opportunities and escalates that information.
  • Develop and maintain service records and reports using the appropriate software such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Provide Technical and Product Improvement recommendations
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment required.
  • Experience with biological wastewater treatment processes and separation processes (DAF, clarifiers, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and industry codes and standards.
  • Ability to organize tasks and schedule work so that it is completed on time.
  • Ability to effectively perform work independently or within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required: skilled at written and oral communication, able to work constructively with customers and code enforcement officials, able to effectively explain function of equipment to customers.
  • Bilingual helpful but not required.
  • Valid U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
  • Valid drivers license with good driving record required.
  • Ability to operate various tools and instruments including hydraulic tools, drills, grinders gages and meters for electrical components.
  • Previous experience with Wastewater Treatment Equipment a plus.
  • Welding experience, especially on Stainless Steel is a plus.

Job Requirements

  • This position requires 80-90 % travel. Overnight travel is a requirement. It also requires the ability to work holidays and weekends. International travel is also required.
  • Practical experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment required.
  • Possesses and exhibit high moral and ethical standards.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Possess or be able to obtain TWIC card.

Qualifications: * Associates, Technical/Trade or Bachelors Degree Required. * 2+ years field service experience, healthcare industry strongly preferred. * Familiarity with audio systems and electronics repair. * Familiarity with PC hardware, software - configurations, trouble shooting and maintenance. * Familiarity with remote control SW packages log-me-in 123, etc; CRM packages; & Microsoft Office. * Networking experience preferred - i.e. - Networks / Internet Protocols, WAN, LAN, routers, switches, servers, * Basic TCP/IP and multicast knowledge. * Strong interest in the latest technology and trends. * Knowledge of acoustic measurement preferred. * Meet physical requirements generally associated with field service repair such as bending and lifting up to 50 pounds * Approximately 50% - 75% travel required. * Clean driving record and reliable transportation required.
