As a Field Service Technician, you are the on-site printer repair expert. You'll fix and maintain networking, print, copy and scan equipment (from multiple manufacturers) for our Hospital client and its local facilities.


The Technical Service Representative position is a highly skilled technician level where the employee is capable of a full workload. The individual is responsible for the timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of office product equipment and for promoting and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with our service and products. The ideal candidate must be able to work successfully complete and possess the following:

  • Maximize equipment up-time through timely response and effective and efficient repair with selective customer training to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Ability to troubleshoot and think independently

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude and demonstrated skills

  • Knowledge of basic networking

  • Computer and analytical skills

  • Prior experience in maintaining and repair of office equipment preferred (Canon, HP, Lexmark, Okidata, Ricoh, Sharp, and Xerox experience is a plus)

  • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Complete all administrative aspects of the job on time and error free

  • Provide accurate feedback with call close information, part usage reporting and customer meter readings

  • Analyze customer needs, recognize business opportunities, and influence sales volume growth

  • Communicate and interact with customers, field service, sales, management, and administration in a way that is courteous, positive and professional

  • Provide 24:7 on call support coverage

What We're looking for:

  • Must be able to problem solve, conduct written and verbal communications, read and comprehend technical information

  • High School Diploma required, Electronics or Computer Associates Degree preferred

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Pull, lift, reach and transport equipment parts and boxes

  • Must have reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)

What You'll Need to Win!

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license with safe driving record

  • Reliable transportation.Demonstrated experience repairing network printers and print equipment

  • Software application and network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP protocol)

  • Proficiency in MS Excel

  • Experience accessing online manuals/diagnostic tools

  • Strong time/project management and organizational skills

  • Positive, team player attitude to provide great customer service

  • Experience in managed print services, healthcare and/or Helpdesk is a plus!

Various immunizations and/or medical testing may be required as a condition of employment for any positions that work on-site regularly in a hospital or medical setting

Responsibilities: * Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site. * Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. * Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. * Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. * Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field. * Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. * Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. * Identifies additional service opportunities with customer. * Completes training in line with skill and business requirements. * Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. * Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor. Skills: * Ability to carry out basic diagnostics using Cummins diagnostic tools on different product types with minimal supervision * Able to fully use all required Cummins service tools including Insite, EDS, Quick Serve On Line, INPOWER, LONMGMAKER * Familiar with basic warranty/policy terms * Capable of developing collaborative working relationships * Able to identify opportunities for work process improvements * Can resolve common technical problems * In depth electrical repair and maintenance capability to carry out external engine repairs including fuel system components without supervision * Ability to develop and maintain productive customer relationships and educating customers on operations and maintenance of products Education, Licenses, Certifications * Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) * Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution (Preferred) * Locally valid driving permit Experience * Basic level field service work experience * Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products * Customer service experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Standing 7.5 hours per day. * Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day. * Sitting 1.5 hours per day. * Lifting 1.5 hours per day. * Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds. * Bending 3.0 hours per day. * Driving 1.5 hours per day.
