Position Overview
The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service work on all types of windows manufactured by Quaker throughout the United States. This will encompass, but is not limited to, removing windows and doors for repair, and disassembling whole or parts of windows and doors for repair.
Duties and Responsibilities
Travel to job sites to meet with clients
Observe the completion of field product tests and installations to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
Conduct root-cause analysis to identify source of any quality issue
Meet with customers / contractors / end users onsite to review findings and establish appropriate countermeasures
Operate precision measurement devices to perform inspection
Repair Windows and Doors
Identify and troubleshoot moderate to complex issues
Remove windows and doors for repair
Disassemble whole or parts of windows and doors for repair.
Interact with customers on a daily basis
Gather information & present findings to respond to questions from customers, co-workers and managers
Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
Compile data to produce reports and documentation relevant to assigned highly complex projects
Plan, prioritize and monitor repair activities.
Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.
Safety
Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment); report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow job-specific safety requirements such as Ladder Safety, Power and Manual Tool Safety, Safe Lift and Scaffold Safety. The individual must follow all safe driving laws and any on-site safety requirements.
Travel
Extensive travel is required. Work is performed at the customer's home or place of business. Overnight travel is normally required. Meal per diems are provided and hotel charges are covered.
Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Mechanical comprehension of windows and doors
Must have ability to read architectural drawings, shop drawings and factory orders
Must be comfortable with heights and working off lifts
Proficient usage of hand and power tools
Valid Class E driver's license & a safe driving record
Must be able to use navigation tools
Preferred Education and Experience
The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Extensive travel throughout the United States is required and hours will vary. A minimum of 40 hours per week will be required. Trucks will depart early Monday and return Friday afternoons, but this is subject to change. Occasional weekend work is a possibility.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to climactic variations, fumes or airborne particles, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection.
