Field Service Technician

Description:

Adding several experienced Controls technicians to their Distribution and Fulfillment team to support Amazon and other new projects. Summary: Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity.

Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Responsibilities: Write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and assist in all on-site commissioning efforts.

Utilize "Human Machine Interface" (HMI) using commercially available products such as Wonderware, RSView and Factory Talk view. Implement basic PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current design and customer specs Work with MHS employees, customer representatives and third-party vendors to ensure all aspects of a project are considered during both the design and commissioning phases Review electrical designs and provide accurate as-builts drawings for approval. Individually, or as a team, commission complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and complete system acceptance testing.

Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.. • Provide on-site supervision of employees on installation projects and works closely with Project Manager to provide accurate and timely installation. May supervise contracted/3rd-Party installation teams as well. • Provide some mechanical/electrical controls assembly to assist the installers when needed. • Complete installation projects while minimizing or avoiding cost overruns. • Verify site dimensions, obstructions, power feeds and other items needed for a successful installation. •

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

PLC programming (RSlogix, RSLadder, Studio 5000, etc.). HMI Programming (RSview, Factory Talk View, etc.). Input and output device design and implementation Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Devicenet, Profinet, etc.). Experience with VFDs a plus. Experience with Microsoft 365 - Office Apps. Travel 80% to customer sites o Conveyor/Automated Storage system components and installation of same o Mezzanine construction o Wire Guidance installations o Rack and shelving installations o Kardex installations • Performance duties with minimal supervision; demonstrate drive and initiative while responding to rapidly varying requirements.
