Job Description:

  • Responsible for field repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Process Instruments in Oil and Gas, Specialty Chemicals, Microprocessor, Steel plants, monitoring what is in tanks, pipes, vessels, stacks.
  • Earn commissions based on quoting repair costs and spare parts as well as identifying business opportunities for Sales & Marketing
  • Provide customer, manufacturing rep and distributor partner training in product applications, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

Position Requirements:

Minimum 3- 5 years experience as a Field Service Engineer working with process instrumentation

A.S. degree in electronics, equivalent military training, or prior work experience with a solid understanding of instrumentation

Demonstrated progress in successful troubleshooting and maintenance among one-to-many product lines and technologies with Mass Spectrometry experience preferred

The Coordinator will be the first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking support and information regarding DSU Wilmington. This role requires day-to-day coordination of facility oversight during classroom hours of operation which requires afternoon through evening hours of work. S/he manages all outside contractors in support of the office operations, including maintaining records and contracts, coordinating project activities, and providing scheduling support. S/he is the primary contact for facility related emergencies which may require evening and weekend work. The Facilities and Safety Coordinator should be professional, customer-focused and able to work in a diverse and dynamic environment. S/he must be able to use time and resources effectively and efficiently, have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational and project management skills. S/he will also provide logistical support for meetings and other DSU Wilmington activities, which includes set-up of meeting rooms as required. Essential Functions The following are the functions essential to performing this job: 1. Maintains the safety and physical operations of the DSU @Wilmington facility by: a. Ensuring all life safety equipment is functional and to code. b. Maintaining the plans for fire evacuation and disaster response. c. Coordinates with IT staff to arrange maintenance of designated teaching equipment. d. Providing logistical support for meetings and other activities, which includes meeting room set-up as required, monitoring/adjusting security set up for doors, and ensuring equipment set-up and trouble-shooting as needed. e. Complete regular inspections of all areas of the facility to ensure that it is maintained to the highest standard and that any safety and/or health issues are addressed immediately. 2. Provides administrative/operations support by: a. Assisting the Secretary of the DSU @Wilmington facility with projects as requested. b. Assist Wilmington campus staff in locating equipment, supplies, and materials. c. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities: 1. Valid First Aid and AED certification would be an asset. 2. Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point). 3. Knowledge of basic internet and email operations. 4. Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative. 5. Strong oral and written communication skills. 6. Strong customer and interpersonal skills are essential. 7. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy is essential for this position. 8. Aptitude for organizing tasks, managing time and prioritizing projects. 9. Must exhibit sound judgment, tact, courtesy on a daily basis, and have excellent rapport with staff members. 10. Ability to develop strong relationships with other internal departments. 11. Excellent time management and task tracking skills. Qualification Standards 1. Education: Associates degree and 2 years of facilities and/or safety services experience or 4 years of facilities/safety services experience. 2. Physical: The employee will be required to work the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and may need to work beyond regular work hours/days during conferences or emergencies- early mornings/ late evenings/weekends. 3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move at least 20 pounds. Performance Standards: The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1.
