Job Summary:

Maintain validation and calibration equipment for in-house use, field projects, rentals and sales. Review equipment and instrument status for compliance. Evaluate new equipment and recommend calibration requirements. Perform routine calibration of Masy and customer equipment in-house and at customer sites. Calibration includes temperature, relative humidity, CO2, voltage, pressure, time, rotation, etc. following documented procedures using precision standards. Create, modify and execute calibration procedures. Issue and review calibration certificates. Perform testing to support the quality management system. Report, troubleshoot, evaluate and make recommendations about quality issues relating to calibration

This position is for day shift, but may require some occasional off shift and/or weekend coverage to accommodate schedules and/or project timelines

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Primary technical support for both internal issues and external customers

  • Pre-requisite to performing calibration procedures: signed off on General Calibration work instruction and Measurement & Test Equipment work instruction

  • Train and operate in accordance with current procedures and Work Instructions

  • Become proficient in a multiple testing functions ie; PRT, IRT, V2K, Electrical, Pressure, Relative Humidity etc.

  • Support Metrologists in uncertainty analysis through data gathering and testing

  • Author and revise current Work Instructions, procedures and documents as needed

  • Understand interval and tolerance relating to calibration

  • Report questionable calibration results to direct supervisor for evaluation and determination

  • Set up metrology equipment and evaluate for process improvement

  • Enter data into SM Plus

  • Abide by ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and NVLAP principles

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices

  • All other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma, Military, Technical School or Associates Degree

  • 6+ years' experience in calibration

  • Formal ongoing training and seminars to increase or maintain industry knowledge

Additional Experience/Skills:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential

  • Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and Form Docs

  • Electronic, electrical and mechanical skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong reporting skills

  • Ability to multi task

  • Strong time management skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Operate under GxP guidlines

  • Soldering

Physical Demands:

  • Drug testing

  • Inoculations specific to customer sites

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Work environment is typically laboratory, office and customer sites

  • Off-site travel as needed to support business needs

  • Overnight travel as needed

  • Valid driver's license required for travel
