Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Level III
Department: 115- Technical Service
Reports To: Field Service Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $75,000-$100,000 DOE
IRIDEX Corporation is a medical device manufacturer and operates in a global regulated environment (e.g. FDA). Regulations include (but are not limited to) FDA 21 CFR 820, EN ISO 13485, and the European Medical Regulation (MDR). Based on the position, experience in a regulated environment and the extent of working knowledge of appropriate regulations may vary.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Support the PASCAL customers by completing repairs, performing installs, and preventative maintenance on the PASCAL laser system.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot laser systems down to assembly level to determine cause and remedy of malfunction.
Provide reports on test results for complaint handling.
Perform installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
Provide outstanding customer support to answer questions and resolve customer issues.
Complete service reports, RMAs, and expense reports in a timely manner
Additional tasks as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
AS in Electronics, Biomed, or equivalent with 3-5 years' experience in the medical laser industry.
3-5 years of experience troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, and electro-optical components.
Ophthalmic Medical device experience preferred.
Experience with FDA regulations preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent computer applications (MS office, Outlook, etc.) skills.
Must possess problem solving skills, strong digital/analog skills, and ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner.
Experience using laser power meters, DVM, Oscilloscope, and hand tools.
Able to follow procedures.
Self-starter and independent with ability to manage/coordinate travel for service calls.
