The Field Service/Support Engineer III performs field service of the nCounter Digital Analyzers and Prep Stations, requiring up to 75% travel in the assigned territory.
Install instrumentation in both research and medical diagnostic laboratories in accordance with IQ/OQ/PQ procedures
Perform annual preventative maintenance procedures on systems installed at customer sites
Document all activities and update/maintain instrument configuration databases in compliance with all Quality Assurance procedures
Interface with the commercial team and NanoString customers directly when performing instrument service and technical support
Communicate service concerns with our OEM partners
Effectively liaise with customers to schedule installations, annual preventative maintenance and repair work
Previous experience working under own initiative, including arranging own travel requirements, hotels, and making cost effective decisions regarding ground transportation, always keeping the departments' budget in mind
Mechanical, Electrical or Bio-Engineering B.S. degree with 3-5 years of relevant field service experience
Thorough understanding of state-of-the art hardware and software QC methodologies
Capable of working independently and in a team environment, communicating relevant scientific data effectively in oral and written format, working in a timely manner to meet defined deadlines, and representing NanoString Technologies effectively in the field
Good knowledge of IT and network requirements, as our latest products need to be networked onto customers' network
Willingness and availability to travel
Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy and robotic systems is preferred.
General knowledge of genetic analysis techniques (DNA microarrays, gene expression analysis, and quantitative PCR) preferred
Experience working in a QSR certified organization is considered a plus
