Job Title: Field Service Engineer III

Position Summary

Supports complex Field Service activities in operating environments at depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation or repair. Applies extensive technical skills in area of proficiency and demonstrates expertise at all types of military and commercial field assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models

  • Support Quality Engineers with identifying non-conforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly

  • Lead the efforts to develop maintain and deploy quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities.

  • Provide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits, ensuring implementation of root cause corrective actions

  • Perform analyses of program requirements and prepare responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules and resource allocations to assure optimum quality support

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of hands on experience, prior military training in developing training plans to specific USN, USAF standards is highly desired.

  • Prior experience with aircraft systems and flightline or flightdeck operations, and have a working knowledge from both a maintainer and operator stand point

  • Working knowledge Electronic Warfare systems. (LAIRCM, SLTAs, and DIRCM system knowledge is also desired).

  • Extensive avionic systems background and hands on experience with system installation, flight testing, understanding of airborne operation and employment, system hardware/software troubleshooting and repair.

  • Trained & certified in Quality Assurance Standards and Quality Control IAW IPC-A-160 standards

  • Trained & certified to use military aircraft documentation and forms to provide maintenance, inspection, service, configuration status and flight record for aircraft.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

  • Must be able to provide clear, concise, information through written and verbal communications

  • Ability to work autonomously or within a small diverse team

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, top management and suppliers.

Security Requirements:

  • Must have a current or the ability to obtain Secret or higher clearance

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift over 35 LBS

Work Environment

Work environment is normally an administrative office and IT Systems integration lab.

  • Travel up to 70%
  • May be required to travel to other DRS facilities, or participate in government reviews on or off site.

Job Location Fort Walton Beach, FL Job Title: Field Service Engineer II Position Summary Technical position requiring skilled electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, operational expertise, and proven customer service skills. Service work may include, but is not limited to, performing independent maintenance, repairs, modification, equipment setup and testing, and training of customer representatives at remote worksites with little or no direct supervision. Frequent travel to various production and test facilities where DRS products are manufactured and serviced. (2 positions) Duties and Responsibilities: * Supports moderately complex Field Service activities in operating environments at depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation or repair * Provide technical skills in area of proficiency and demonstrates ability to troubleshoot technical issue at all types of military and commercial field assignments. * Determines solutions in resolving a wide variety of technical problems * Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required * Provides technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel * Other duties as assigned * Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization Basic Qualifications: * Associate's degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum 2+ years' experience * Must possess a working knowledge of military and commercial operations and have a basic understanding of safety and maintenance practices * Must be skilled in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, assembly, and operational checkout and testing * Must be able to conduct repairs and/or modifications to equipment using engineering assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, a variety of hand tools, computer aided interfaces, and test equipment * Must be able to identify, analyze and troubleshoot a wide range of complex technical computer and network related problems effectively and efficiently * Proficient with multi-meters, o-scopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers and other test equipment * Knowledge of Quality Assurance Standards and Quality Control IAW IPC-A-160 standards * Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, MSDS and other safety requirements * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects across the team * Experience in developing Standard Operating Procedures, Techniques, and Procedures for Integration & Testing and Operational assets * Possess knowledge of and experience applying computer security policy, procedures, and protective measures * Must have excellent communication skills; show tact, have effective listening skills, follow through, detail- oriented, and organized * Ability to create status reports * Ability to travel up to 75% Security Requirements * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; possibility of Top Secret/SCI Physical Demands * Ability to lift over 35 LBS * Pass DoD's medical requirements if position is OCONUS or for certain deployments Work Environment * Work environment is administrative office and includes warehouse, production facilities, outside and or remote environments * Ability to work variable shifts to meet internal project and remote customer schedule with up to 12 hour shifts when necessary. * Travel may be to US and OCONUS locations and could be up to 90 Days per trip. * Must be able to obtain a passport for OCONUS travel requirements Leonardo DRS, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
