At EUV Tech, we enable the frontiers of semiconductor manufacturing and material science through the development of world-leading extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray instrumentation and techniques.

Reporting to the Manager of Field Service Engineering, the Field Service Engineer (FSE) will play a key role providing support for the installation and servicing of products in the field.

We are seeking a self-driven individual who is experienced in electrical and mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting automated control systems. This role provides service and support for existing and future products, specifically for our customer in Santa Clara, CA. The Field Service Engineer will be expected to be on the customer's Santa Clara site daily.

About the Role

This position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers, and the capability to manage workload among changing priorities. Applicants should thrive in a dynamic startup environment and have a troubleshooting mindset: an ability to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failure mechanisms.

Your Role

  • Responsible for on-site installation, servicing, and repair of products in the field

  • Own customer relationship; single point of contact for all customer actions/communications.

  • Instruct and train customers on the operation and maintenance of products

  • Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits

  • Work in a cleanroom and follow all customer protocols

  • Work in a supportive, team-oriented environment

  • Engage with internal technical subject matter experts when needed after initial troubleshooting and summarizing the issue

  • Data analysis

  • Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems

  • Control system analysis & troubleshooting

  • Documentation (technical documentation generation)

  • Field support of instrumentation (domestic and internationally)

  • Integrated system assembly

Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum education of an engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (excel, PowerPoint) or related software

  • Experience troubleshooting automated control systems, including data acquisition, robotics, IO, industrial communication, and machine vision

  • Assembly skills (electrical/mechanical)

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing ultra-high vacuum systems

  • Experience working in a cleanroom and following all customer protocols

  • Semiconductor equipment experience is strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills

  • Ability to manage demanding customer requests and prioritize activities independently

  • Understanding of networking principles and concepts

  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Eligibility to legally work in the United States, and to travel internationally for work

Position Details

The base salary range for this full-time position is 100K-130K + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and EUV Tech's location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the respective role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors: job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
