This is a remote based position with frequent travel.

The Field Service Engineer will lead the efforts to ensure Eos energy storage systems are installed, commissioned, and operating as designed both domestically and internationally. In addition, the Field Service Engineer provides customer support and training, and works closely with system integration and manufacturing engineering to improve operations and reliability of the system.

  • Provide on-site installation support

  • Create or revise system customer-facing and internal commissioning documentation

  • Execute and ensure commissioning procedures and test protocols related to DC system and battery management system are followed and documented during commissioning

  • Perform testing on DC system and battery management system

  • Provide support for testing of complete system including BMS interface with AC system

  • Evaluate battery performance, including testing, of fielded systems

  • Collecting information, and participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for any failures of fielded systems or components

  • Document test results, check lists and potential issues raising from commissioning or trouble shooting of systems

  • Take lead on customer interfacing for new projects and warranty claims. Work closely with the Sales and Systems Engineering teams to ensure seamless transition from contract to close out

  • Support System Integration team, testing and proving circuitry and protection related to the operation of large DC systems

  • Improving and optimizing aggregation and safety hardware


  • B.S/ A.A.S Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics


  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in energy storage service and operations

  • Experience in applied problem-solving methodology

  • Knowledge using data acquisition tools, data logging, metering and electrical instrumentation.

  • Electrical safety training, NFPA70E or similar

  • Experience in directing/coaching diverse groups of skilled workers


  • Electric utility or renewable substation commissioning

  • Seven (7) years' experience in energy storage service and operations preferred

  • Medium Voltage/ Substation experience

  • Automotive Industry Quality tools (FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP) will be valued

The Field Engineer works with the Project Team and our Field Management to construct a safe and quality project, while beating the estimate budgets, improving the total Operating Profit margin over the original bid, and building a strong customer relationship.</p><p>This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Project Manager and Superintendent with shop drawings, submittals, scheduling of subcontractors and materials, meetings, as-built drawings, job cost, procurement, quality checks (inclusive of torque checks) and field operations.</p><p>The Field Engineer will be assigned to our projects nationally (primarily in the North East and South East) and must be open to working 100% onsite at our construction site. The Field Engineer travels and often temporarily relocates near project sites. This entry level position that helps prepare an individual for opportunities in Project Management, Estimating and Construction Management.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Complies with safety procedures/policies and addresses and/or elevates non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors</p></li><li><p>Participates in the daily Task Safety Awareness and weekly Safety Meetings</p></li><li><p>Supports the Quality personnel and the project through the use of the Quality Management System</p></li><li><p>Properly tracks quantities on a daily basis and reconciles them each month for payment purposes</p></li><li><p>Manages/reviews all foremen's reports daily to ensure all information is properly recorded before any income, cost, or inventory entry</p></li><li><p>Documents all Time and Material operations on a capture sheet and reconciles with the client on a daily basis</p></li><li><p>Takes two site walks a day to communicate with and learn from Foreman and Construction Managers about current operations and deliverables</p></li><li><p>Performs daily torque checks; supports Quality Personnel and the project through the use of the Quality Management System</p></li><li><p>Participates in relevant daily huddles to ensure the projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.</p></li><li><p>Establishes excellent working and professional relationships with the clients and their representatives and/or field inspectors</p></li><li><p>Assists the buyout process, writes the requisition, and communicates all required information to the Project Team</p></li><li><p>Negotiates the best deal for cost, quality, and delivery using the company buyout procedure</p></li><li><p>Produces complete purchase orders after the conditions are approved by the Project Manager</p></li><li><p>Knows the key operational details of the subcontract and holds the subcontractors accountable to their agreement</p></li><li><p>Attends the subcontractor coordination meetings to provide updates to schedules, drawings, and specifications</p></li><li><p>Produces and manages project submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications (submittal log or Expedition) so all are submitted and approved prior to the start of work</p></li></ul> CS Energy Edison NJ
