As a field service engineer, you will work at a variety of labs, so having a solid understanding of Agilent's portfolio, and continuously learning about new instruments, software and consumables, is key.
Applying your creativity, complex problem-solving skills, and can-do attitude is essential.
Compliance and reporting are also important responsibilities, such as documenting and ordering components using a variety of databases.
Having a natural instinct to deliver the highest-levels of customer service is vital.
You will be responsible for on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions which may include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems.
Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
Performs maintenance and repair services.
Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
Serves as an internal resource on technical issues.
May train other field engineers or customers.
May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.


*Determines and develops approaches to assignments *Leads field services and support projects requiring coordination with other functions, customers *Solves a broad range of hardware and/ or software problems of varying scope and complexity

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or other life science field preferred; may consider a candidates with equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience * 3+ years minimum relevant work experience including familiarity with chromatography, mass spec and/or other analytical instrumentation

  • Hands on experience with GC/ GCMS/ LC/ LCMS is required for this position.

  • Ability to work through complex repairs, installations, and scheduled services (PM/OQ) in a customer facing capacity

  • Ability to solve, high impact problems related to product availability; typically system/ solution focused

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must

Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer's site. * Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs * Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools * Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field * Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor * Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. * Completes training in line with skill and business requirements * Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation * Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor Qualifications Skill Level A * Ability to carry out basic diagnostics using Cummins diagnostic tools on different product types with minimal supervision * Able to fully use all required Cummins service tools including Insite, EDS, Quick Serve On Line, INPOWER, LONMGMAKER * Familiar with basic warranty/policy terms * Capable of developing collaborative working relationships * Able to identify opportunities for work process improvements * Can resolve common technical problems Skill Level B Skill Level A plus * Ability to carry out full diagnostics using Cummins diagnostic tools on different product types without supervision * In depth electrical repair and maintenance capability to carry out external engine repairs including fuel system components without supervision * Ability to develop and maintain productive customer relationships and educating customers on operations and maintenance of products Education, Licenses, Certifications * Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred) * Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution * Current relevant electrical certification * Locally valid driving permit Experience * Basic level field service work experience * Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products * High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience * Customer service experience Physical Requirements (times are approximate) Standing 7.5 hours per day * Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day * Sitting 1.5 hours per day * Lifting 1.5 hours per day * Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds * Bending 3.0 hours per day Compensation and Benefits * Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
