Eaton Corporation's Power Quality Division designs Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic based products to ensure reliability in the most demanding applications. UPS systems condition power to protect against power quality hazards, as well as provide continuous backup power during outages. Like an automobile, UPS systems require preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Our Field Service Electronics Technicians are highly prepared through coaching, mentoring, and formalized training to perform UPS and battery installation and maintenance. Eaton provides in-house training to ensure our field technicians are experts on our products, from ones manufactured 15 years ago to those built today. Eaton is committed to flawless service execution and surveys our customers for satisfaction to deliver continuous improvement of its product.

This position will be responsible for servicing electrical (high voltage environment) UPS systems, batteries, and electronic based products at customer sites. Performs on-site emergency and preventative maintenance and repair, as well as installation of company product in a 24/7 on-call environment with regional responsibility. Products to include uninterruptible power supplies and batteries. Provides technical support to customers and serves as contact on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.

This position will be located remotely and will work out of a home office within the immediate geographic area.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties.

  • Analyzes test data and recognize deviation from acceptable values

  • Manages company assets, controls personal inventory, and uploads all field activity reports

  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner

  • Takes ownership of an assigned task and see it through to a successful completion

  • Responsible to meet annual goals set forth by Management (utilizations, work completions, etc.)

  • Provides ongoing customer interaction and meets customer service requirements

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of power systems, battery technologies, and electronic experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited Institution

  • Valid and unrestricted State Driver's license

  • Must have ability and willingness undergo and pass customer entrance requirements, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate Fredericksburg, VA geographic area will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field from an accredited school and/or equivalent experience in a technical field.

  • Frequent travel to customer sites is required, with up to 75% of drive-time expected.

Position Success Criteria :

  • Ability to read schematics drawings and company technical publications

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test and repair techniques

  • Ability to work with other CSEs and take directions from the lead CSE on site

  • Incumbent may be required to perform the following tasks, but not limited to, frequent, occasional, or seldom: repetitive lifting/carrying; pushing/pulling; standing; climbing; squatting; bending; kneeling; or driving extended distances.

  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

  • Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory; analog and digital electronic circuit theory; and microprocessor controls and programming

  • Understand how to use Oscilloscope

  • Understand how to perform phase rotation and phase alignment checks

  • Basic understanding of network functionality and sealed and wet celled battery theory and application.

  • Understand the proper use of hand-tools, and when it is appropriate to use insulated tools

  • Understand need for safety, and comply with company and customer rules on safety

  • Must demonstrate proficiency on products and field processes before being dispatched to the field

  • Must provide high quality of service

  • Self-starter and motivator.

  • PC Proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook

  • Proven/Strong written and oral communication skills

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Provides administrative and clerical support to a funeral home, cemetery, crematory or a combination of these facilities. Other general duties include greeting the general public, answering questions and providing general information on services offered in a polite manner with a goal to meet and exceed customer expectations. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Clerical Support * Performs day to day clerical duties as required which may include: * Preparing death certificates, prayer cards and related documents * Greeting family members and friends * Completing required permits and / or certificates * Receiving and / or processes payments and/or contracts * Preparing and processing Veteran's Paperwork * Ordering supplies, filing and responding to inquiries * Ensures that the required documentation to support requested products and services is accurate and complies with state, federal and company rules and regulations, to include: * Preparing and distributing daily interment or cremation schedules, reports, and documents * Maintaining and verifying the accuracy of logs associated with markers, interments and/or cremations * Acts on calls from external customers, including other cemeteries and mortuaries, to provide product and service selections, to include disposition of remains, contracts, and payments * Coordinates the ordering of memorials and related products and the control of storage inventory for vaults and markers * Oversees the processing of installation orders to grounds and maintenance departments * Enters contracts and cash receipts in HMIS when necessary * Prepares marker/ monument placement paperwork * Composes edits and provides obituaries to newspapers and MeM * Processes account payable transactions * Assists Sales, Community or Family Service Counselors as needed * Assists location management with daily operations including SOX compliance, delivery process and liability release * Assists with payroll * Prepares for funeral services by preparing sign-in books, ensuring veteran's paperwork is completed, and assisting professional funeral staff as directed * Conducts blind checks * Assists with MEM preparation and service materials * Monitors and follows up on marker orders; tracks memorial orders * Maintains Dignity for Excellence location book where applicable * Acts as backup to Receptionist * May design and manage MEMs including monuments and markers * May maintain location website to include accuracy of obituaries, service information, etc. Customer Service * Communicates client family's needs promptly and accurately to the appropriate staff member. * Conveys a sense of concern and empathy with client family members at all times. * Demonstrates a caring attitude when problems arise while calmly and efficiently bringing the situation to the attention of a staff member who can provide resolution * Responds to customer inquiries via telephone, internet and in person * Maintains professional and cooperative relationships with county clerk, medical examiner and physicians * Keeps accurate records * Performs other duties as assigned Requirements & Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: * High School or GED equivalent Certification/License: * None required Experience: * 1 - 2 years' experience in an office clerical or customer service capacity required * Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Working knowledge of office equipment including computers, calculators, copiers, printers, and fax machines at a level consistent with experience * MS Office Suite experience is highly desirable * Good verbal and written communication skills * Strong organizational skills * Basic mathematic skills * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions * High level of compassion and integrity * Problem solving skills * Ability to multi task and set priorities * Detail oriented * Ability to maintain confidentiality SCI Overview Who we are.
