This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

Job Purpose

Provides general field support for Industrial, Oil and Gas projects as directed by the Project Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Replaces or repairs equipment; brings installation projects into quality and/or safety compliance

  • Performs lead verification/continuity testing

  • Performs analysis of job specifications and drawings; prepares Methods of Procedure (MOP), Job Information Memos (JIM), resolve job specification and/or drawing problems

  • Performs in-process and final quality inspections

  • Performs testing and startup

  • Serves as the Installation Supplier's in-charge person on common systems jobs as needed

  • Maintains inventories of material and equipment for regional use, and transports needed equipment to the job site

  • Maintains a close interface with the Alpha Regional Construction team and with all customer stakeholders regarding schedules, quality, and standards

  • Knows and implements customers' standards of safety, installation quality, processes, and communication methods

  • Escalates any issues to the Field Manager

  • Understands and enforces Alpha's standards of professionalism, quality, safety, metrics, and processes

  • Understands and complies with installer task restrictions as part of NEC

  • Accurately tracks all time and expenses, and reports back to the project management office using approved methods

  • Supports Alpha's Sales Team, cultivates customer relationships, identifies opportunities, and delivers consistent quality and value

  • Provides work assignments to Field Electrical Apprentices as needed

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 2 to 4 years in the field of Sysem/Environment (Common Systems)

Supervisory Experience: N/A

Requirements and Skills:

Excellent record of attendance

Will work on-site

Ability to speak/read/write English

Detail Oriented with Strong organizational skills

Work Well under pressure

Current Drivers License and acceptable driving record

Sufficient credit line for business expenses

Available weekends and after hours when on call

  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills

  • Ability to add or remove Common Systems equipment hardware

  • Ability to add or remove wiring and connection

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Prepared to take and pass Journeyman Electrical Licensing test

  • Associates degree
