Summary:

Candidate will be a key member in KVHs Global Service Team working to coordinate new equipment installations and repairs on board ships in North America, Central America, and South America. The ideal candidate may have experience working for a Fleet Manager or a Maritime hardware supplier coordinating projects/services on vessels. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including regular weekends

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of equipment installations:

o Work with Customer and KVHs professional services team to identify:

Equipment list to be installed

Installation scope of work

KVH service partner who will perform on board work

Measures to assure installation quality

o Communicate installation plan to ship owner or management company

o Assure equipment is sent to installation prior to the commencement of work

o Act as escalation point for any problems encountered during an installation

o Secure post install documentation and file as appropriate

o Route information required to invoice customer and pay service partner

  • On Board Equipment Repair:

o Vessels requiring service will be identified by KVHs technical support team

o Assure replacement parts are sent to the port where service will be provided

o Contract with local service partner for required installation work

o Assure service records are updated to reflect repair event

o Determine whether service event is covered by warranty and invoice customer as appropriate

o Route information required to pay KVH service partner for work performed

  • Service partner training administration:

o Help coordinate service partner training events when scheduled

o Process participant training certificates

o Update training records in a database

Education Requirement:

  • Minimum of an upper secondary or relevant vocationally oriented degree. Ideally candidate will be a graduate of a bachelor or academy profession program in business or engineering.

Language Requirement:

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for working with customers internationally

  • Other languages are a plus

Required Computer Skills:

  • Enterprise Resources Planning System
  • Baan
  • Customer Relationship Management System
  • Sales Force
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Note: If required training, can be provided for these tools assuming candidate can type and use Microsoft Office Suite Tools

Other Requirements:

  • Service minded with excellent communications skills

  • Organized, persistent, and with the ability to have several projects running at the same time

  • Ability to work autonomously and with a problem solving attitude

  • Capability to successfully work through foreign language and cultural issues when they occur

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including regular weekends
