General Information:
This position is for participants of the Apprentice program of the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC).
The goal is to prepare you to become a Field Service Technician, though different rotational assignments within Hitachi Energy High Voltage Service organization.
Mission Statement:
The target work focuses on installing, configuring, calibrating, and repairing technical products and systems at customer field locations including: Performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on installed products and equipment. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving malfunctions.
An Experienced Para-Professional (S2) requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires vocational or technical education.
Your Responsibilities:
Participate on the rotational plan established by Management and GACC
Main rotational assignments will include Field Operations, Training Center, Equipment/Asset management, Engineering.
Perform field service operations that present usual problems requiring technical skills.
Assist the installation and commissioning of high voltage equipment.
Assist training center operations, including training documentation, training preparation and execution, field engineer's certification database.
Assist equipment/asset management on daily tasks, including inspections, minor repairs, planning & fulfillment.
Assist engineering with document management, project support and other tasks as assigned by engineering manager.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own knowledge and experience.
Perform and document field tests such as SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact resistance.
Compile and evaluate data to determine and resolve operating problems or malfunctions.
Conduct inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs and assist in determining resource requirements.
Develop recommendations and prepare written reports.
Maintain detailed records and logs.
Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
Follow safety policies and procedures.
This position is hourly & part time. Schedule to be agreed with supervisor.

Your Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in the Apprentice program of the German American Chamber of Commerce GACC and enrolled at a technical college on an electrical, mechanical or mechatronics related field for Fall 2023.
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
No previous experience required.
Familiarity with windows applications.
