Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required Interactions:
The Field Service Applications Specialists is responsible to maintain, install and repair Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites, including strategic accounts. This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues. FSAS act as a resource for general applications support and troubleshooting with applied focus to LCMSMS platforms and their usage in current markets. Partners with Sales and Service management to drive customer satisfaction and business objectives. Partners with Technical Operations to resolve regional escalations. Mentors, develops, and certifies service associates. Geographic scope of the role is the assigned region within the Americas territory (North, South, and Latin/Central America) including limited international travel.
FSAS will provide feedback to the Service Product Manager's by performing internal product and documentation testing/review.
FSAS are responsible for maintaining current market competency, and understanding and anticipating customer needs.
Advanced applications workflow expertise and knowledge of Sciex and OEM products
Expert in performing high quality installation, repair and maintenance on mass spec and chromatography workflows
Strategic responsibility for customer and key account support as assigned by manager
Performs IQ/OQ and other qualification products. Includes training.
Conducts and/or participates in special projects as directed.
Assists the District Manager with identifying resource and training needs.
Mentors and trains lesser experienced associates
Performs preventive maintenance on select products
Completes all administration duties acts as district champion for standard work.
Maintains own tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply
Assist District/Process Manager with coordinating background work and leading technical discussions for applications related regional/global escalations including onsite as required
Troubleshoots and resolves difficult service/applications including E1 escalated situations both within assigned accounts as well as across the district/region
May fill in for District Manager as needed
Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience
Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or related scientific instruments
Expert knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
Is capable of using current Sciex software to acquire and process/ review quantitative/qualitative data, eg impurities, isomers, metabolites and general screening needs
Is capable of using all source technologies while troubleshooting and diagnosing faults
Is capable of supporting standard methods sold by Sciex or developed by FAS for our customers
Expert communication skills both written and verbal
Works independently and as part of team
Drives commercialization of SCIEX products
Takes leadership role in driving and improving district/regional performance and proficiencies.
Working knowledge of electrical and electro- mechanical technology
Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs
Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
Must be able to climb a minimum 30 foot ladder
Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
Exposure to varied travel conditions either driving or flying
Travel required/Valid Driver's License.
Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography, up to 75% overnight travel required.
Meeting Vendor Credentialing requirements are an essential element of this position.
